My ferret has insulinoma. This transition is going to be very difficult bc of that.
They're still in the process of getting used to the taste, so they're not even fully eating meals yet.
For now, during the transition phase, the only time I can 'feed' them is when I get home @ 7pm. They're still eating kibble (Orijen), I have to take away that for two hours, so they won't be able to eat until 9pm. For that whole hour I'll work with them, but then I won't be able to put their food back in their cage until 12am. (and again since they're transitioning they aren't fully eating, so they're gonna be hungry.)
But my future schedule looks like I may have to make enough FDR in the morning (7am), that can hold them over till lunch @ 1pm. For lunch they'll eat their kibble and it'll be left in their cage up until 5pm. For their dinner (8pm) they'll finish off with raw, which I'll leave in their cage all night. (I'll take them off of kibble when I feel confident that they'll eat all of their food during lunch without me being present).
For a ferret with insulinoma, the hours she has to wait to eat makes me nervous bc she has to be around food at all times. Is this an appropriate schedule. If I have to make adjustments I'm open to that. But for the better hours of the day they'll have to eat kibble bc I don't want them eating meat that's been left out for hours.
