As the title says, I need suggestions for good, safe leashes. Currently I have some of the vest leashes that tie with both velcro and plastic snap clips, but the problem is that they're crap. My furdoodles just squirm right out of them, or at least the neck parts. And that's way too dangerous to risk taking them for a walk outside, which is why they need the leashes in the first place. Loki is leash trained, but sometimes he gets the idea in his head to squirm out. Athena with her whippet build, hasn't fit in any leash I could find yet. And my other two boys are currently undergoing leash training, so loads of squirming out there. * But before the little snotters can get to walk outside, I need to get some secure leashes I can feel better about. Any suggestions on which ones to get and where?

You need an H type harness. Sheppard and Green makes one, as does Marshall's. I can't remember who makes the convertible harness/collar. Every ferret I've put the vest type on has squirmed out in under 5 minutes.

I've tried figure 8's, vest types....always come back to the H type. It's really the only ones that work. Unfortunately, the smallest fitting will not fit your smallest sprite but...there are some wonderful ladies out there who make custom harnesses for those wee little ferrets ciao

Thanks guys. I'll check on Amazon if I can get some nice H style harnesses for my little buggers. They've really been in a "Mommy, if you don't lemme out, I'mma claw dis door open" mood the past two days. Heather, any suggestions on which of those wonderful ladies to try? I've never really ordered custom-made ferret goodies, because we preferred making our own bedding and the like for our cages, but I wouldn't ever think myself experienced in making a secure leash.

I havent tried that one but it looks awesome. I saw it on amazon. There was one that had a clip in the middle so you could go from collar to harness. I had one a few years ago but I can't remember who made it

I make and sell the figure 8 harnesses. So far I haven't had any problems using them.
