Well he says her globulin levels and total protein levels are high and shes slightly anemic. He is saying its not contagious and not to worry about my other ferrets. He's offering up medications that he says will be helpful (didnt ask for the names just yet) but not curative.. and still wants to do a biopsy. We go back next tuesday to be seen while Vaeda gets her distemper vaccination. *sigh* not what I wanted to hear at all. I feel helpless, I wish I could do something.

I'm so sorry. Not knowing has got to be the hardest of all. Did he give any reasons for her levels to be high?

The FIP ferret cornovirus. He wants to do a biopsy to confirm but I don't know if its worth putting her through it. However I know people are doing studies and maybe her tissue samples could help. I just want to cry. She's only a year and a half old.

I hope this is not the case. A biopsy is the only way to confirm I suppose, but it could rule it out too....her healing candle is still lit. Good luck, whatever route you choose ciao

To be honest? I'd do the biopsy. That way you know whether or not this is what you are dealing with. If it is(I really hope not!), then you can go forward with any treatment from there. If it's not- then you know you have to keep looking, but at least FIP has been ruled out.
