Transition Diary
FERRET INFO:
Appa and Kartos are the older ones (3/4yrs?!). I adopted them just a few months ago from another lady whom fed them Marshall Kibble when I got them, so assuming thats what they have been eating their entire lives.
Coco (1yr) and Mocha (8 months) are my babies, they have been fed marshall kibble only so far due to the pet stores at which I got them from, telling thats what I'm to feed them [img src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" style="max-width:100%;"]
My ferrets are all indoors. Coco has had one vaccine and one rabies when I first got her, now due for a follow up rabies. Mocha I never ended up getting anything due to being inside only ferrets. Appa and Kratos, I have no idea about. I don't not plan for them to be outside but if so of course, I will be making sure to get them what they need with routine vet visits as needed as I do with all my pets.
As for housing right now I have a huge, HUGE bin Ive had for Coco originally. Then we got Mocha and he stays in there with her as well but only for the night, usually between 9/10pm to 7/8am. When we got Appa and Kratos I didn't put them in the bin, at all. Just too small for four ferrets, even just for the night. I'm weird about making animals suffer like in a small area so we let them free roam all the time. Coco can't stay out, she likes to chew on my fiancé as explained in another of my threads. So of course my fiancé likes to sleep in peace so Coco has to go in at night. And again I feel weird just making her go in, so I put Mocha in with her so she doesn't feel secluded and since they both originally go in there together to begin with. I use to have sugar gliders back when I lived in NY so I already have a huge 3 story cage for my ferrets for our new place when we move. Then on top that we just ordered another one to have, so they will have more than enough room at night for all four ferrets. And to be honest I plan on getting a few more
RAW EGG:
Ive tried raw egg, with and without the white. No one will eat it except Kratos (see photos below). I will be continuing to do the "grab and dab" on the other three till they take to it seeing as it is shedding season. Kratos may of had too much I'm assuming as he puked a little of the egg back up about an hour later. So he either ate to much, stomach isn't use to it and possibly made it a little upset, or ? He is fine, no bad poos, no weird behavior nor did I even hear him puke, I just suddenly saw it. If this continues on the next try, I'll be sure to say so. I forget now, how often do I give raw eggs again?
FYI: I also bought a couple cans of 100% pure pumpkin as I read, just in case to have on hand
KIBBLE:
As for the kibble they are transitioning right now from Marshall Kibble to the Orijen Cat and Kitten. They started this transition on Thur/Fri, April 20/21st. I mixed it in with their marshall kibble little by little, adding more and more as directed. As I was informed and they are surely doing, they are digging some of the Orijen out of the mix [img src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png" style="max-width:100%;" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/.png"]
RAW SOUP:
As for the raw soup, I made it last week (week of April 17th) and tried it for a few days but it didn't go well. I tried the "grab and dab" numerously throughout the couple days I had been trying it out and they didn't like it. Again though, Kratos was the only one who took to it some what. I even tried watering it down more but nothing. I will start to try it again after they take to the kibble. I don't want to be having to switch/try too much at once for them. So i'll finish with the kibble and start the raw soup again in about a week (week of May 1st) and stay consistent till it sticks
NEEDED FOOD PRODUCTS:
I will also be getting the following items during this transition as I was directed to below. This list will be updated as the transition goes on:

This is a list, again that will be update of what I have so far:

-Chicken Broth (raw soup)
-Egg Shell Powder (raw soup)

If theres anything else that I should need overall or know, please let me know of course. Or suggestions on what is best, especially for vitamins, etc. Whatever to keep my puzzies in the best health. I'll be updating this so I can have it as a reference to look back on due to me being a bit forgetful lately between there being so much new information with this to learn and this move right. Thank you!
For everyone who doesnt know, we are moving after five years of being in Key West to New York. We move at the end of June. I'm trying to get my ferrets switch to kibble to have them on something thats best for them for now till we are settled with the move. I'm thinking hopefully by mid August we will be settled by then in NY and then I can start their transition to raw. So for now as said, switching the kibble and starting them on the raw soup as well after the kibble switch to get them in the direction of raw when it's time.
