You can put the whole egg in some hot tap water for a minute or two (to knock off the cold). Then separate yolk from white, and break the yolk. Hold your ferret in your lap and touch his mouth with some yolk from ur finger. If he wants down, let him go. In a couple of minutes, do this again. Repeat. If he takes to finger feeding, you can scoop up some yolk in a teaspoon and offer. Once they take to a teaspoon, lay the spoon in a saucer. I suggest feeding yolk first because it is easier to stay on your finger than whole egg beaten up, which can be pretty slimy. They may backslide now and again until fully use to eating the egg. Also this is how we get kibble-imprinted ferrets to transition to the raw meat soupie. Do keep us up to date on little one and his progress.

No change in eating yet, but she's playing and running rampant lol. He is a she...what I was seeing was something in her fur. She seems to be a much happier ferret she has defiantly made her HUGE mark on our hearts. The husky even likes her and guards her lol! Thanks everybody for help I'll try through kibble swap and get her going on something better for her.

Some do, some don't. Many prefer a cuddle/play mate. Some prefer to be solos. If you are interested in another, contact a local shelter or rescue and see if you can let her pick her own playmate. Females tend to be harder to introduce new ones to as they are more territorial as a rule. A rescue can also be a really good guide as to whether they think she'll accept another as a friend. On the flip side, here is a video of a wee girl I tried to introduce to a ferret she wanted nothing to do with(this is the other extreme). She was one pound, he was 4lbs, but she had him ultimately curled up in a ball in the middle of the floor shaking in fear. She ripped a 3" gash in his scruff. Needless to say, they were separated.

Then I'll just stick with my current household. I have 3 cats, which like the ferret, 4 turtles... seems she can always find a way to make off with their filter and swim in their tank lol. Also a 75lb S. Husky that thinks the ferret is the best thing ever! Star (husky) tries to guard her from everyone... it's her ferret she let's it crawl all over her So for now my fami'y is plenty big enuff

STAR almost never makes a noise... only at pee'o'clock, then it's a howl, but she really loves the ferret... thinks it's hers but hates when malfoy sniffs her eyeballs! She's starting to eat ferret food from marshalls but if only of I leave it in her bowl..last thing she eats! I'm totally in love she's my sweetheart. We got a yard sale dresser to make her a cage. It needs paint and some mods but we are working on it...she's sill living in our bathroom, and has taken over some coveralls! Her favorite thing is a huge box of rice I make her with tons of toys... Is the rice ok for her? I saw it on pintrest and wanted something to keep her active. I've gotten ferret wash a tiny harness and vitaferret I think it's called(she hates it) to get her healthy. .any other suggestions, till I can get her eating whole foods?

As long as it isn't instant rice it's great As for food- if she is going to be on a kibble for a while please ditch the Marshalls in favour of something like Orijen feline Also may as well toss any "vitamin" with a ferret picture- they are loaded with sugar. If possible get some salmon oil and just dab her nose with it a few times if she doesn't take to it right off. A tsp a week split up is what works best.

So glad I found you guys! I was just getting ready to get salmon oil for my husky, she's blowing her coat and gets super itchy and dry. Just had no idea I could give it to Malfoy! I'll also order other food for her. Where I live there are not many options readily available. I'm really starting to wonder just where she came from. The few pet stores we have seem to just look at me stupid when I ask for ferret stuff, but that maybe the reason she won't eat anything heathy...because it's not available. I shall harness the wonders of the Internet and find her good stuff, lol! The rice is long grain rice think she has about 25lbs of it in there, but her favorite toy seems to be a tailors measuring tape, she drags it to her rice to "fight" ...I've started calling it the Kraken.
