Ok for TessVictoria ( how do you tag someone?) I got a whole catfish today and don't quite know what to do with it. Do you feed whole catfish? Thanks! @tessvictoria trying out a new method of communicating thanks to LindaM. So wondered about the catfish sitting in my sink. It's the slimiest thing I've touched in a while :face:

Yay catfish! I kind of smash/ cut through the spine to cut the fishy into three large pieces, then use my poultry shears to cut the thirds down to normal chunk size for the girls. im assuming it should make a few meals for boogs. Just depends on the size of the fish I suppose! Of course to introduce you can do smaller chunks well smashed with soupie Good Luck!

hE ate a chunk of tail but left tail. let's see how he does today since that was actually his am piece(after midnight) and not a big piece at all. You get a lot of fish for 2 ounces!! This I hope will give him some nice variety! THANK YOU!

Ha! I have to say of all the things I've cut, split, chopped, pureed, and smashed, catfish creeps me out and I used to fish and clean fish, but I guess I never handled the catfishes before- I'm sure I would remember. I will try an attitude adjustment and see how that goes. He apparently likes it. I gave him three or 4 pieces and there was only one left when I got home. I checked all his stashing places. YAY!!!! Thank you for making that suggestion!

Ferret's name:BOOGER 2. Ferret's weight: 2.4lbs 3. Ferret has eaten about 2 ounces amount on average per meal. I'm still determining this. seems it may be more than 2 ounces, but using 2 ounces to figure the organ meals. 4. Stools on various proteins--pretty good, but still poops out some undigested meats- much smaller amounts now. He seems to need all the bone-in meals with no muscle substitutions. 5. Activity levels: great, today he leaped up to grab the cloth i was playing with him with. He runs and jumps, does the weasel war dance, but rarely leaps straight up in the air. That was cool! 6. Weekly menu: week of March 20th will fill in soon... sometimes menu gets modified Sunday am catfish pm half and half-- dk liver, lamb panc. Monday am DK wing pm DK wing Tuesday am QUAIL pm PK Wednesday am cK NK pm PK HT Thursday am egg, DK wing pm DK wing Friday am FL pm ck ht + duck liver + lamb spleen Saturday am CK NK pm LAMB Sunday am CATFISH pm duck liver+lamb spleen Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/22639/transitioning-thread-booger#ixzz4bp5iyFzU

Yikes, mine come gutted and headless! I would suppose gut them like when you're prepping a fish for yourself, but heads could be left whole

@tessvictoria The Asian store I buy from also sells them whole, and they're big ones too. They're just lying there, staring at you with those dead eyes and little whiskers.
