Oh my! That could indeed be a turning point for them And the white seedy poops are just fat/skin, so no worry as long as it changes with a different protein. For Franks, you may have to hand feed a puree to get enough liver/organ into him for a while. That also gives some bonding time. Good to hear for Ellie! I know I am harping, but have you been able to access a different bone in protein?

Sorry i thought i replied to this days ago - When i order food next week im going to order a whole duck carcass chunked, so we'll see how much meat it on it. If it works out then chicken wings & necks, turkey necks & duck carcass will be easily accessible to me.
Its been what? 4 days since i posted that things seem better between frank & pops? Every night they're having a conversation under the couch. Tonight they walked alongside each other for around 1ft - 2ft. Franks been playing in her presence & he did jump on her tonight but im 60% sure it was play! She panicked a bit but he jumped on her back, bit & ran off. Exactly the way he did with Jasper & Ellie back in the 'happy days'
I tested ellies bg today - 3. Shes SO wobbily when she walks i honestly think were pretty much at the end. Im going to book an appointment with a new vet asap. I know my current vet will opt for euthanasia, he seems too quick to go down that road. I now have to start questioning the ethics of keeping her going with her teeth & arthritis. Im a weepy mess atm lol.
Btw franks bg was 5. Im not a happy camper atm.

I am sorry to hear about Ellie And a new vet is a good idea. What dose pred is she on right now? She may just need an increase. As for Frank, 5 is a decent reading. And glad those two have turned a corner with getting along!

shes on 1mg per day (0.5 morning & 0.5 night) the vet said that shes pretty much on the highest dose of pred now. i'm glad u think franks reading is decent, i was considering starting him on pred.
todays the day we took poppy to a ferret shelter to meet some new friends - none of the adults really got on with her - i wonder why? but she met 3 4 month old kits & did really well. i also held a 7 week old kit & nearly ran off with her! oh my life i've never held anything so precious!! afterwards we took her back to the shelter we got her from & re-introduced her to the 2 females she lived with before we adopted her. everyone was very happy to see each other! it went really well. no fighting, no problems nothing. now we're back home it might be my imagination but she seems a little depressed. i think those 2 ladies might be coming home!

yep, them ladies are coming home! i had to after the guy at the shelter telling me they get no attention apart from cleaning out twice a day, the horrible food they're on & everyone there seeming to be so desperate to find them a home. they've been there since late last year.
everyones eating well & ellie is seeing a new vet on wednesday afternoon. we're going on an adventure on the bus!

lol if frank gets over himself then he'll have his own hareem pmsl!
poppys white poops are back, they totally cleared up but it was completly liquid this morning. previous meal was turkey necks.franks poops arent as bad as poppys but are still loose. because they're both getting it at the same time & it clears up for a few days i'd say totally diet related? untill the weekend theyve just got turky neck. on saturday i should have restocked with turkey neck, whole duck, chicken wings & maybe some more depending whats in stock.

Might be time to do an elimination diet to find exactly what's doing this. Give one protein for the next two or three days and see how stools become. Make sure to jot down anything unusual that happens. Then switch to a different protein and do the same.

Urgh, i ordered the food before i saw this. Ill start a diary of proteins eaten & poops pooped. I think its white meat related & because frank & poppy both have the same white poops at the same times then at least its not one fert being intolerant to a certain protein

When you say white, do you mean as in "white" white, or just pale coloured? Are the stools always liquid when this happens, or just soft formed?

photos.app.goo.gl/b8eJf92euGj3Q2Wa6Id say theyre very pale, almost white or an off-white. They go from very soft to totally liquid. But frank & poppy have these poops at the same time. They last for a 3 - 4 poops & then clear up. Bot ferts have 100% normal poops at the min. Last night was duck neck (which frank didnt eat, but pops did) this morning is pork chunks. Tonight i think might be turkey neck, so i expect these poops to return overnight. We'll see

Oh my. Those do look to be an issue. After tonight, try leaving all turkey out of the menu entirely for 2 or 3 weeks, then introduce again for a single meal. See what happens with the stools.

candy & floss are home! as soon as poppy saw them they all had a massive play! they've been grooming each other & poppy & candy cleaned each others faces after eating this morning, which is y i asked on facebook about bonded ferts, they seem so close.
they're only 11 months old & have been at the shelter for nearly 8 months! their claws are so long its borderline neglectfull & they were advertised as difficult & needing an experianced ferret owner (yeah cause theyre KITS!). well - i've not been bitten once in over 24 hours, IDK what the problem was with them because they're so sweet. thats y they've been there so long because they were telling people they're quite bitey & difficult but i really don't think they are.
anyway, rant over. they seem to be good with raw - it's was heart & organ last night, poppy did brilliantly, the girls were interested but didn't have much. frank needed a little coaxing but did better. this morning was pork tongue, i had a little feeding frenzy with the girls lol, i'm so relieved! tonight it's duck bones.
i'll update the weights & new menu soon, i've been at work all day & i'm shattered. & also having 2 entirely seperate groups of ferrets has thrown me out a little.
