awesome! however much i want to get up & sprint to the shop to get some chicken bones right NOW, i cant. i'm broke, the car has broken, alf might lose his job in a few days & we're getting married in 20 days. oh yeah & the dog has an ear infection lol, it never rains, it pours! so i need to wait until payday which is this friday.
also - things between Frank & poppy are bad again, he's attaching her on site again & chasing her. It's worse today. I wonder if it's because poppy & Ellie have spent the day together in an attempt to at least get them bonded. I have a sin bin, he's had 2 3 min stints in it tonight. Sues really good, she's still happy & playing & keeps approaching him in bed dooking @ him, she is wonderful.

1. name: ellie 2. weight: 485g up from 467g 3. average eaten: shes doing very well, she's feeding herself now. 4. poops: perfect 5. Activity levels: normal for her. 6. Weekly menu: same as always (vince the vet commercial raw, either lamb with beef offal, turkey with lamb offal or beef with lamb offal). photos.app.goo.gl/V1dDgaQYwa2EfsPj8photos.app.goo.gl/NPkviw6k3JAgoSEH9*** 1. name: frank 2. weight: 744g up from 638g i'm sooooo pleased with this!!! 100g in 2 weeks *happy dance* 3. average eaten: i've been feeding him around 100g per meal & almost all of it is going. 4. poops: poops have been very loose the past week or so, they look like stress poops. he's been meaner than usual to Pops & i've been putting him in ferret jail every time. 5. Activity levels: he hasn't played in 6 weeks now, he's still quiet. i do think it's because of poppy. 6. Weekly menu: full frankenprey. i'll post the menu at the end. photos.app.goo.gl/a6opsTmPEWRqNnp96photos.app.goo.gl/M77chCcdGo5Eiz1M6*** 1. name: poppy 2. weight: 971 down from 900-&-something (she wouldnt sit still) 3. average eaten: shes still eating me out of house & home. 4. poops: same as franks, quite loose - they look like stress poops to me 5. Activity levels: good but shes stopped playing. i think that thats because i've been shutting all 3 ferts in the living room together to get them to interact more. 6. Weekly menu: same as frank. photos.app.goo.gl/9iyU5VWAZcJyKdkv6photos.app.goo.gl/HAk7d8gcip15sXQq9*** so menu - Mon am - bone Mon pm - bone Tues am - bone Tues pm - heart (lamb) Wed am - liver, kidney soup (50:50) Wed pm - bone Thurs am - bone Thurs pm - meat Fri am - bone Fri pm - meat Sat am - heart, liver, kidney soup (50:25:25) Sat pm - bone Sun am - meat Sun pm - bone bone = duck neck & chicken wing. meat = chicken, beef & duck gizzards, i might have picked up some pork for them too, i'm doing meal prep later today so i'll know for sure then heart = lamb organ = lamb & ox liver, spleen & kidney pre made ground in 2 weeks i think i'm going to swap the premade organ grinds to propper liver & kidney chunks, get them to a point where they're eating it well & then start introducing other organs to the mix. atm all i can get is beef testical & spleen, but i'll probably find more when i start looking properly. *** so it's 6 weeks today since poppy came home with us. she seems happy in herself, shes very scared of both frank & ellie (although i have caught he in bed a few times with ellie) but frank seems depressed. they get carnivore care to enjoy close to each other every other day & frank is being isolated in a borrowed cat carrier any time he snaps at her / chases, or fights with her. shes not fighting back, she just runs from him. how long should i continue to try? my first responsibility is to frank & he seems so sad, i also am worried that this may start affecting poppy negativly. she still approaches him, she still tries with him, she'll approach him when he's in bed & sniff at him. usually that ends with him snapping at her.

Diet wise they are all doing well! With Frank can you get him starting to play with you? Drag a tube or towel around and put him in/on it etc. Sometimes it takes some real work to get them going again. If Poppy was really afraid she'd not be approaching him at all, and/or showing reluctance to come out of cage etc.

That's good news about poppy! She's skittish but not shy at all when coming out of the cage & exploring the house.
I'm going to try some one on one play sessions with frank - it'll probably take a few days but hopefully I can get him happy again. That might help with frank-pop relations.
I was also thinking that next weekend when we clear out & deep clean the ferret room that we give everyone an oatmeal bath. That way all 3 ferts & all the bedding will be fresh & neutral smelling.

So I was really lazy yesterday & couldn't be bothered to chop up the bone meal, so I just gave them a whole chicken wing each. Overnight frank has stripped his down to the bone, & i heard alot of crunching at one point. Poppy hasnt touched hers, which surprises me because I thought it'd be the other way around. But yeah - Bone is done lol *no more chopping for meeee YAY*

Excellent news!!! Honestly I would give them a small portion of their normal meal using just wing for 3-4 meals. I used one wing split amongst 4 ferrets to get them eating bone lol.

Will do. Frank's been stripping them to the bone & not actually eating much bone. I gave whole duck neck last night & they weren't interested. I chopped it up for them & they still weren't interested. It's wing again this eevening so we'll see.
I've noticed they have 3 bone meal in a row (Sunday eve, Monday morn & eve) & then heart on Tues morn. Is this ok? Or should I put in one of the organ meals in Tues morn

He's coming around That is fantastic! And I'd use a wing or chicken neck if you can get it. Don't give him a whole wing, give half what his normal amount would be. You can crack the bone in several places if you like. If you do use the duck neck, try this. Chop into two to three inch lengths, and "cross hatch" with a cleaver about every half inch.

Yes, I've given them 1/2 a wing each last night & today. Poppy is on hunger strike - idk what's up with her. Frank's on a roll chewing up everything I give him

This is the second duck neck meal they wont touch. Neither of them. Maybe i didnt chop it up enough? I'll leave them with it tonight & chop it up a bit more for them in the morning.

I am so sorry I didn't get back! For some reason this didn't show up flagged as posted on until today Something I found helped mine with necks is to "cross hatch" them with a cleaver, and then chop in half

It's fine I have been cross hatching it, maybe not enough? Right now she's going pretty wild for the chicken wing I've done. I've left the bone whole for half a wing (franks) & chopped it up a bit for pops. They've really driven me mad this play time!! The past few days we've had no snapping or fighting. Even when Poppy accidentally jumped on Frank (1 of the funniest things I've ever seen pmsl) but this evening we've had a fight inside 1 sofa & underneath the other. At every sign of aggression from Frank I've been isolating him over the past 2 weeks, but this evening on both occasions there's nothing I could do. So I've spat my dummy out a bit! I thoughts Frank was getting better, but obviously not.
