so i'm keen to make the switch to my ferrets Jasper, Ellie & Frank. Eillie has insulinoma so i'm very cautious about the switch & really have no idea where to start.
how long between kibble & raw should it be?
i'm looking at Vince the Vet cat food - Minced chicken carcasses, extra chicken meat and lamb offal 20% (heart, liver and kidney), a commercial raw to start with as my dog is on the dog food & it's readily accesible to me. when they're eating that then i can move on2 chunks & then possibly whole. does this sound like a good plan? with the ferts & the dog, work, commuting ect i'm limited on time & if i can save time by skipping the soup then i'm up for that. but i'm very open to suggestions & if i need to do soup thats totally fine.
i've dabbled a bit in the past - Frank LOVES fish! he lives for it. all 3 go nuts for egg & at one point i had them tasting the vince the vet food. but then Ellie got sick & i freaked out & went back to kibble. i know i'm overly cautious lol.
i was thinking of fasting them for 2 or 3 hours tonight then mixing a small amount of vince with egg. whould that be ok to do with ellie?

Hi Azaelia, I am not a mentor and since you have one with insulinoma, I am going to let sherry or Heather or some others that r mentors give you info.
Is Vince the Vet frozen raw?---just curious.

@abbytheferret yes vince is frozen raw. It seems good & my dog is doing really well on it.
We'll that went well. Mixed the mince with egg, every1 had the egg but left the meat, so I spoon fed them. Ellie did the best, She had maybe a whole teaspoon worth. There was some retching but she took it readily enough. Jasper wasn't too bad he had maybe half a teaspoon & stashed a little. Frankie retched a few times & tried to run off. He did eat some & did well, but mostly just kept dropping chunks in my lap. Note to self - don't feed the ferts in ur work clothes! I'll leave it 2 hours & put them 2 bed with kibble. I'll try again tomorrow. Might skip the egg & try warm water this time. They only had less than a 3rd of an egg each tho.
