That depends on the vet. There are some blockage surgeries than run under $1000, and some that go $1000-3000 easily. I'm gonna tag some of the admins who may be able to give you a better idea, but again, it really depends on the vet. katt, Sherry, Heather

Does anyone know what blockage surgery runs at an emergency vet? I was approved for care credit for 1000 It varies by vet. Your vet will give you an estimate before you agree to the surgery. Usually the exam is about $50-70+/-, barium X rays are $100-300, and the surgery runs $500-1000+.

The vet I got a hold of says 24 hours(which its been just over) is too long to go without eating? My vet said no food until tomorrow afternoon. The emergency vet recommended bringing him in for even just care treatment of feeding him intravenously until I could get him transferred to my vet in the morning for surgery, the e vet said about 3000 for surgery through them. At this point would being in a vets office stress him out too much or is it better he be there? I was approved for care credit and a capital one card and between the two it would I think be enough to cover it but I don't have the physical card yet since I was just approved. Do any of you know if the can do a payment without the card?

If he can't get to surgery right away I would definitely let him stay at the vet and be stabilized with IV fluids and nutrients so he will be stable and strong enough to withstand surgery.

Dehydration in a blockage kills. He needs to get fluids somehow.

It might be fine doing payment without the physical CareCredit card. I applied for mine the day before my eye surgery was done and that was what we used to pay the $3000 it cost, though we applied for it through the Lasik center that I was undergoing treatment with. I only got my card, well actually, my husband got his approved signatory card in the mail like 2 weeks later, my card got lost in the mail, so we had to call them and have them send cards again, which took another 2 weeks. I'd explain the situation to the vet office and ask them what they suggest, or call CareCredit and just double check with them and let them know of the situation being dire. You can try the same with Capital One, I haven't tried to make a payment with a new card from them until I'd actually received the card, so not sure if you can or not.

They should print an itemized estimate with exactly what the costs will be. That is usually a range e.g. If he needs sedation he might need NO sedation for $0, or he might need IV sedsatives for $56, etc down the list. Were you at the EVet and then went home?

They're going to try to stabilize him enough for surgery vet said then he will probably die either way but it's a matter of if he's going to just die or if he's going to die trying.. we really need all the good thoughts vibes and prayers right now.. I need a miracle

I'm so sorry I could not check back in last night! I should have given you some suggestions like doing the blockage protocol instead of just asking you about the med. A candle and prayers for your little one.

Healing thoughts for your wee lad Doesn't help now, but blockage surgery here costs approx $1800, with $1500 demanded up front.
