Over the past few days Chewy (cat) keeps throwing up his raw food. I have been giving him kibble and he has not puked that up. The first time he puked was when he got lung. I stopped feeding him lung and he didnt puke again until I fed him heart. And now he throw up any raw food he gets. Why is he throwing up the raw food?

are you certain the raw offerings are not spoiled? If this is the first intro to raw do not offer tainted items. Also offer the raw many hours away from when she last ate kibble. Try smaller amounts and smaller pieces. If offering hunks the cat could simply be wolfing the meats down and it's too much at one time to digest.

Just a thought, what type of meat are you feeding? I had a kitty who could not eat beef, venison, pork...anything with hooves. He could eat any poultry products and in the end he could also eat rabbit. At first the only thing he could keep down was chicken after about 6 months of feeding that he was then able to keep down turkey, then duck and as I said eventually rabbit. It is possible that your kitty has a protein sensitivity. Do not look at the protein that goes into the kibble to what your kitty can eat as cooking the protein to non-existence and then recreating it doesn't constitute the same protein as the raw product. ciao

I am positive the meat is not spolied. I dont think hes wolfing the food down but I will try offering smaller meals and smaller chunks. He gets chicken, turkey, pork and beef. He was eating all those for a few weeks before he started having problems. But Is it possible he developed a senitivity to one?

It's possible but why don't you go to feeding one protein for 2 weeks and seeing what happens. Feed the one protein, if nothing happens then feed the next and as on. If nothing happens with any of them then you could possibly look to that he may have picked up a flu virus, which is entirely possible too. A couple of my guys had some issues a couple of weeks ago, it went away as fast as it showed up but there was some upset tummies for a few days ciao

I just got him to eat some raw and he kept it down. Maybe it is the flu and hes was just not feeling well. I will still try only one protein at a time though.

I would just watch what you are feeding and go slow, my cat ate rabbit fine the first several times, now she pukes it, she can only have hearts/liver in small quantities or it comes back up, pork/venison/beef are complete no gos. I had a similar issue where she was puking rather frequently and went back to canned for a few days but she has a habit of eating things she shouldn't which causes problems.

He ate a whole raw meal and did not puke it back up. I think it was the flu or he just wasnt feeling well because now he really wants to eat his raw food again.
