Sorry for my late reply. THings have been a bit hectic lately between school and family. It sounds like you've had some success! Great work! You may as well purchase some wings or necks while your at it and give those a go as well. When you purchase things from the store, just have a look at the salt content on the ingredients list. Sometimes it may be listed under Sodium. You want it to be as minimal in percentage as possible and of course, nothing else added like herbs or spices or marinades.

We made a lot of progress this week because of spring break! Back in school now but I'm hoping the progress continues. I will be going out to the store tomorrow for some chicken and I'll add some of that to the grinds and see how they like it.

That is excellent. If they are both eating the grinds willingly, then you could really remove the kibble if you feel up to it. ^_^ Looks like they are getting a good variety so you can start introducing some slivers of meat whenever you would like to. (Simply buy some fatty cuts like chicken thigh.)
I may not be as active as I was hoping for the next couple of days. I've gotten really sick. (I think stress has been a major contributor.) I will do my best to check in often.

I bought some meat yesterday and all they are doing is licking it now. I know it's not optimal but should I try the scruff and stuff method?
I've been bad the past prior couple of days -- I have bronchitis and had an awful stomach bug but no health insurance so I've been trying to stick it out. I had to go a couple of days with kibble during my stomach bug but that's over now and they've had no problem getting back into the swing of the mince yesterday. I plan on cutting out the kibble very soon because I only have about a week's worth left and I don't want to have to buy more.
I hope you feel better too!

I feel much better today. I've been on antibiotics and boosting my immune system however I can. I'm sorry to hear that you were sick also. You're the third person to tell me about having bronchitis too! It must be going around lately. I'm glad that you got through it and feel better. Stomach bugs and bronchitis don't sound like a pleasant combination. Yes, you could try the scruff and stuff method if you would like to. I personally don't like this method because I like to have the ferrets associate feeding with something pleasant. But as a last resort you can for sure. Another handy trick would be to tuck the ferret under your arm, rather than scruff them. You can hold the back end of the ferret under your arm (Kind of like a chicken hold as I call it) and have the ferret resting along your arm. I hope I make sense. I'm never great with explanations haha. With your spare hand, you can hand feed the mince or hold a sliver of meat to the mouth. The point is getting the food into the mouth and holding it there as much as possible so that they are inclined to begin chewing. I did this with bone in meats, chicken wing, and I held it along the side of the mouth. You're welcome to also rub the meat along the gum as well. Frequent hand feedings like this, or simply just hand feeding without holding if they are willing, will increase their exposure. I recommend doing it as much as possible and preferably avoid scruffing unless absolutely necessary or as a last resort. ^_^

Still working on the slivers. I posted in the Natural Ferret about a weird poop that Jaxson had, I hope you see it.
I know I'm at the stage where I should be fully taking the kibble out of their diet but my anxiety has been so bad thinking about it. I just feel like I'm doing something wrong and that I'm going to hurt them! Every weird poop I see I have a break down and I just don't know how to get over it!

Yay!!! Jazmine ate a few slivers today (coated in salmon oil, but still!) Still working on Jax. He likes to sit there and lick it and tried to hoard some today, but he won't eat them.

That's great!! Good job! In glad that Jazmine is starting to open up to the slivers. Jaz has really surprised me. I kind of thought she'd be more stubborn compared to Jaxson but she's been doing super. It's wonderful. ^_^
