If you keep getting them to eat that much (if my conversions were right, ounces are easier for my brain haha) they might be too full to even bother with icky kibbles. (giggle)

Yesterday was a repeat of Sunday and a great day for meals. Both are becoming more active and playing for longer periods of time; monster longer than Brandi, but she is playing for longer each time. she's too funny though. She'll be playing real hard, decides she is done, and literally just stops dead and goes to the nearest bed! The butcher at our local market said he would have no problem grinding chicken for me, so will make an order about a week before I leave so Phil will have chicken grinds to feed during my absence. I got all fine grinds from HTGT, so butcher will do some coarser grinds for me. He also indicated he would have no problem including the necessary heart, liver, and other organ. He seemed to get a kick out of learning it was for ferrets!

@tessvictoria, I can do ounces! I feel like I read somewhere that grams were the preferred method of measurement so have used an on line converter! Ounces is easier for me as well!

I think it depends on which country you're in really, but you can post which ever version you'd like in your own thread is everything still going well?

@tessvictoria, All is still going well. both have had a taste of quail and seemed to really like it! Figures they'd really like the more expensive bird! Going with pork today. Both are still eating about the same amount, and not going for kibbles in the night. I'll be getting weights today. Have safe travels, loads of fun, and no worries about checking on us! We're unofficial

Good job! You guys are doing wonderful. I'm happy to hear they aren't going for any of the kibbles at night and only eating the raw now. That's great progress!

I am so sorry I've been MIA. I am making my home ready for 2 sisters coming to visit, one this evening from Oregon, the other on Sunday from California. The one from Oregon has never been to my home in 33 years! It MUST be very clean; she is one of those "eat off the floor" housekeepers! While I'm not a slob, my home is "lived in". So... we've been stagnant. That's okay because I don't want my husband to worry with doing something he's not comfortable with. We're sticking pretty much with chicken, although Monster really likes the Quail grinds; Brandi ate around them. Monster is eating roughly 3.5 ounces each day and Brandi about half of that. Brandi is going to the dish on her own 80% of the time, but I still put her on my lap at times as I want to be sure she's taking in enough. She is eating 3 times a day, Monster just twice. Many times when she has gone to the dish, eaten, and then walked away, if I don't feel she's had enough I will scoop her up and she does eat some more from my lap. I've been mixing an ounce of soup, an ounce of grind, and an ounce of slivers (thigh meat) in the dish. It is wonderful to see when they get a piece of sliver and chomp! I have not gotten weights as I'd planned. Every time it crosses my mind they are sleeping, then I forget when they're awake. Once I'm on the program it will get easier, of that I am sure. Kibbles are still being placed down at bedtime. I'm just not going to continue arguing the point knowing I'm leaving and Mr. Stubborn is going to keep them down all the time, I just know it. His schedule has become very heavy (he's in water resources in the oil fields) so he's away from home for longer hours than he was when I began and has expressed a concern that he will not be here during scheduled feedings. He IS seeing the enjoyment they get eating their meal when he is home to see it, as well as the benefits - energy levels, less stink, smaller poops, healthier coats... The mixture I've been providing will be put down each morning and each evening, but the mid-day meal Brandi has been getting from me will not be provided as he will not be at home to do so. I will be prepared, and more than ready, to concentrate fully on their transition once I've returned from my visit with my dad!

I almost forgot! A UK ferret friend gifted my kids with a bag of chicken feet; freeze dried. Brandi turned her nose up, as she does with most everything! Monster sniffed, took it, and ran! He went to his favorite stash spot. Knowing I was going to be turning furniture over and cleaning thoroughly, I let him. Two days passed. Yesterday was the living room cleaning day. I found the stashed chicken foot - minus all the toes! Guessing Monster has decided he likes chicken toes! Will continue to try with Brandi, and to give them to Monster as an occassional treat. I will also buy some fresh from the market so they can try them that way too.

That's so cool you get to have your sisters in your house after so many years., I hope you guys have fun! No need to apologize sounds like they're still eating a really good amount, I bet they're barely touching the kibble at this point even if it is left out overnight.. Yay for monster and Brandi! That's awesome about the chicken feet for monster. You can have them be a bone in meal you just either have to serve with a muscle meat or the meal before muscle or organs

Just a tip to get Brandi eating the new food- give her JUST that for a couple of days She'll eat it. As for amount she is eating- don't forget she is tiny. She will only eat 1-2 oz a day on average.
