About an hour ago my boy Jax produced this poop. It looks mucusy and pinkish/reddish (blood?!) He had a blockage removal surgery about three to four weeks ago. He's eating, drinking, and playing normally. I checked his bum and there's no evidence or trace of blood there. It's 2 am Christmas morning. The only emergency vet that's open is a two hour drive and my boyfriend is at his family's for Christmas so I have no transportation. What could this possibly be?!

Is this the only poop that looks like this? Also what does the diet look like? Also please calm down, deep breaths! Stressing is going to hurt you and him

He's on a kibble diet of Orijen anf Wysong DS. He did a poop before this that was a little slimy, but not discolored, and then this poop followed.

Can you send a pic to your vet by way of email? is it 24 hour care? I would do a soft diet--did vet recommend anything?
Also I would limit ferret's movement for internal stitches (i am assuming here).
You can do a soft diet of all meat baby food for a few days. Gerbers or Beechnut. You can do a kibble mixed with baby food as well. Let kibble swell in some water first(maybe 10 min or 15). Mash with a fork then add baby food. More baby food than other, making a mush.
Maybe some other people can help you

My vet isn't 24 hours, and none of the emergency vets in my state have an exotic vet on today. Closest one is two hours away in the next state. I had an emergency fund for the ferrets which was depleted from the surgery, when I had to bring him in for sub-q fluids, and the last check up. I've only managed to gain about a quarter of the $1,000 "emergency fund" back since the surgery and the emergency vet visit alone is half of what I have. He did one poop, a little mucusy but no discoloration after this one. He was playing, eating, and drinking this morning (he's sleeping now). It's Christmas day so I don't know what's open right now to get baby food, but I have some Carnivore Care that I will mix in with his kibble for now so it's soft. I will be calling my vet first thing tomorrow morning when they open. I was supposed to be going to my parents for Christmas today but it looks like I'll be staying home.

Mucous in stool is a natural reaction to a bowel having been irritated. Which his certainly was. I would just keep an eye out for how often this happens. A ferret developing IBD after obstruction surgery is not uncommon.
