A nasty case of the sniffles has attacked my family this week and everyone seems to have caught it. Today I noticed my ferret Cookie breathing like he has nasal congestion and sneezing every once in awhile. I've never had a ferret before him and I've only had him for a few months. He's six months old and very active. He's still eating and playing but his breathing has got me worried. Could he just have caught my sickness or is it something more serious? I have a humidifier running in my room for him but it doesn't seem to be doing much good. I use paper pelleted litter for his litter box and old blankets line all of the platforms in his cage, so I don't think it's a problem with the bedding. Can anybody help me?

It is indeed possible he caught the flu virus from you. For now make sure he is eating and drinking. If he gets more conjested warm soups and a very steamy bathroom will help. If he stops eating vet for pneumonia. This can ONLY be diagnosed via xray.
