Interesting morning... Bella started, she was awake first. Ate part of a leg and a little bit of wing. She then went under the dresser and started eating something. I look under and damnit all to h*ll, a few pieces of the cats kibble were under there and Bella was eating one. I scooped up the rest of them and, literally not 30 sec after she ate one, she starts heaving! Like really gonna puke! I pulled her out and put her near her water bowl, no dice. I gave her some salmon oil and she stopped heaving. I offered the wing again and she ate every last bite. I don't know if the kibble stuck in her throat or if the taste was what caused her to want to hurl but nothing ever came up. Geez! π¬ But after I woke Moxie up, they played and played! Bella was the instigator, which she hardly ever is, she even tried to get the cat to play with her by lunging and backing up at Ashy. She's never done that before. Breakfast went well for Baby Belle, Moxie really didn't eat too much. She ate part of the wing, refused the spine altogether and needed to be set in my lap to even eat the chopped quail. Some days you win, some days you lose, and some days you do both in the space of a couple hours. ππ

Must have been distressing for you! When I took my business to class last year, Amy managed to find a piece of kibble. You should have seen me, grabbed her and was like "Spit out that nasty nasty stuff" the Teacher and classmates all looked at me so weirdly and I had to say "My ferrets are on a strict meat and wholeprey only diet."

Hahahaha oh that would have been funny! I almost did try to swipe a finger in her mouth to knock it out but I didn't want to traumatize her. For all her fluff, Bella is my sensitive one. I half wondered if she's a waardy, but I don't think so. Her nose, ears and eyes are normal size and her head isn't wider than normal. She's easy to startle and her first instinct is to run, hide. But she hears just fine and comes when she's called. π I was disappointed cause even when there was kibble out for a different ferret, they never touched it. And now she finds ONE piece and it's on like donkey kong! π I hope she remembers it made her gag next time ππ

You should hear Machan's story about pasties and ferrets. π Are they Marshall's ferrets? Pfffff, you'd think they'd remember. -.- people talk about goldfish having short attention spans. It should be ferrets.

They are Marshalls, they both even have toe tattoos as well as the ears. I'm gonna have to ask her about the pasties π Seems like they have a real good memory for their favorite things, like how to get outside, where the cat is, the box mom won't let them in π She probably thought the kibble was gonna be easier to eat. So wrong, Bella!

Sigh Sigh. Fine. You win.
I cannot remember how the entire story went but I'll try. End of last Novemeber. I think I came home or something and my roommate told me she was making her lunch and dropped a pastie on the ground. One of the ferrets grabbed it and ran off with it so we had to chase the ferrets around to catch the one with the pastie. When I caught the little fiend, I put my fingers in their mouth and said: "GET THAT POISON OUT!"
I told the story to Morgan and Kelsey. It was quite an interesting one. Morgan thought I meant Nipple Pasties. But the Pasties I meant were pastry filled with vegetables.
Naughty ferrets I swear. -.- hahahah!!

But seriously? I thought the same thing as Morgan when Kels brought it up π΅ My first thought was "I didn't know Machan was that kind of girl?! What's she need pasties for?" bahahahahaha little thieves!

The joys of having friends from other countriesβ€ Any news on how they are taking bone in meals? Does Moxie still need hand fed, or is she doing pretty good about eating it on her own?

Still needing hand feeding, but they both eat most of the parts I offer. Bella eats almost all of the leg and all of a wing, now, before wanting down but if I don't hold it for her, she just stashes and comes back for more. Moxie eats most of a wing and part of the spine/neck. She has yet to finish off the last piece, unlike Bella who knows what to do with crunchies. Bella eats freely from the plate.
IDK about Mox. It really seems like she doesn't feel hungry, or at least, doesn't realize she is... Even with the mashed quail, I have to boop her nose and really encourage for a bite. Once she takes a bite, she will come back for more and eat a bit, just not from the plate.
I'll update more a little later.

Do you know about how much Moxie is eating per meal?

The few times I was able to feed her separately, she ate 1.5 oz, give or take. Mostly, aside from whatever boney part I can get her to consume, if she eats 3 or more small handfuls, I'm satisfied. I weighed out an ounce a couple times for a better visual, she definitely will eat more than that per meal, most of the time. Not the biggest fan of beef π Tomorrow I'm going to try to remember to weigh the parts. I still don't know how much a quail wing or leg weighs π
Bella is doing great. Loves her time in mom's lap eating her bones. She is a beggar, too. Even though she asks to be put down when she's done, she'll stand there looking up at you like "well?"
A couple mornings ago, we slept in and they played before breakfast was served. Even though Moxie ate most of a wing and some spine, she also ate a *little* from the plate without my assistance.π Hasn't done it since. π«
