Have you tried soaking it up on a white paper towel to see for sure what colour it is? Even the background colour of the tile alters it to the eye.

Okay that sounds concentrated. Check for dehydration. Skin "pinch"- when pulled up slightly at the scruff the skin should go right back down and not tent. Also check gums for tackiness and pinkness. They shouldn't feel gummy to touch and should be a healthy pink. If all these are normal I would just try increasing fluid intake and take a wait and see approach. If the urine starts becoming really skunky in smell then he will need to be seen and treated for a UTI.

Until you find out what bacterial or viral infection your little one is fighting, try not to second guess or beat yourself up as to where he got it. Ferrets are very prone to infections, that's why they're used as lab animals. I allow my guys to play outside all the time, it actually helps build their immunity. They're as likely to have picked up an infection from a trip to the vet as from your garden. A healing candle is lit for your little ones, be strong, get well ciao
