Is your vet part of a 24 hour care service?

Is he still in the surgery recovery process? Sometimes they can get groggy depending on the surgery and may not hold down their food well. Have you been feeding solids or soft food?
I know it can be very emotionally draining when your furbaby isn't doing well, but please keep in mind that you are their rock and need you with them. You're doing an absolutely great job by caring for him, providing him veterinary attention, and staying by his side. Things will get worse before they get better. Stay strong Lokimum!

If ferret throws up more than one time--I would take to vet. Have you tried gerbers or beech nut all meat baby food?

The vet he saw is over an hour away. I called and left a meaaage nobody called back. He is still in recovery. Vet said I could feed him his reg kibble. He does not like it softened up at all. He seems nauseous. I agree he needs to go back in, problem with that is the closest vet that takes him on weekends is the one that took him for surgery. An hour away. He ate and drank a little more last night. So he's still wanting to do that. His poop is normal consistency. But it is streaked with a little blood. Vet had said (before vomiting started) he wanted to keep him on the antibiotics longer. Is it a matter of the antibiotics needing time to work?

Can you not get to your vet that is an hour away?
Have you tried some duck soup? What was he on antibiotics for? Depending on what it was, it can be anywhere from 1-3 weeks, but really depends.
Is your vet specialized in exotics/small animals?

Keep going with any prescriptions you have been given. Give small, frequent meals. You may have to make a warm soup from his kibble and spoon feed him that. I would keep a call in to the vet.

Sadly the ups and downs are part of being a parent whether to to furkid or a real kid. Just keep giving him the meds and you can always call the vet and ask for advice without driving that far.

Been in contact with the vet. (Multiple times actually) he's thinking the vomiting is from one of the antibiotics but he only has one more day left. I'm giving him Pepcid for nausea. He says his poop looks good. He wants him o take probiotics because he's thinking he has IBD. He thinks that is what causes the swollen lymph node. He thinks he had greenies on top of that. Vet says we are on a really good road to recovery. 😊 so that's good!!

That's great to hear. You two just keep up on doing what you've been doing and hopefully it'll all be done with soon. I hope little Loki is feeling better, poor thing.
