One of my boys was just diagnosed with Insulinoma He's just started on Prednisolone twice daily. This is the second ferret I've had with this disease. When my first ferret had it, the vet suggested milk thistle to promote a healthy liver as apparently the Pred can cause trouble with their liver. I was just googling some more info on milk thistle and I found some websites saying that it can lower the blood glucose... which would be the opposite of what I want... Anyone ever given milk thistle to a ferret with insulinoma or who is on Pred?

Yes, you can use it. It does not lower the blood glucose itself, what it does in diabetes patients is it helps with the working of their liver.

I use it for all of my ferrets on Prednisolone along with a supplement to support their kidneys.
