I just brought Morph home yesterday from the pet store I work in. He has been fed marshalls ferret kibble and some kind of canned ferret food. I was being naively optimistic and offered him some pork slivers and a cut up chicken wing. He kept coming over to sniff them and seemed interested but didn't take. I left it over night and didn't get touched, this morning I mixed some Merrick limited ingredient grain free cat food (salmon because he's itchy) with some pork slivers and will see if it's touched when I get home. I may break down and buy some marshalls during the transition so that the poor guy isn't snubbing all his food just in case he snubs soupie. Will probably make some soupie when I get home, was just seeing if he would take slivers before making batches of soupie.
Name: Morpheus aka Morph Age: birth certificate puts him at 6.5 months old Was fed: marshalls kibble and off brand soft ferret food Started him: last night started trying raw Weight: I'd say around 2 pounds (don't have a scale yet)
I will upload some pictures of him on here tonight so I can see the difference raw makes vs Marshall kibble over time! Fingers crossed he took a couple chomps of meat by the time I get home. Will also set up my menu and post it here so I have an easy convenient place to view and edit the current menu and keep track of past menus.

Update for today;
When I got home I couldnt tell if he ate any of his merrick kibble or pork slivers because he scattered it all over the place. It didn't look like he ate any of the pork and I'm hoping he at least ate some kibble. He was spunky and played for 2 hours out of the cage so he had plenty of energy.
I made soupie and within a span of about an hour I got him to eat approximately 7-ish "spoonfuls". I had to scruff him at first but the minute I would he would eat a spoonful or two at a time. I'll try to get him to eat another spoonful before bed. I'm not leaving any food (kibble or soup) in his cage cage tonight as he'll probably just tip it over/put his bed in it.
I'll wake up to feed him more soup and leave a small amount of kibble in his cage while I'm at work tomorrow.

He ate 3.8oz of soupie for breakfast and I left .5oz on a heavy plate in his cage while I'm at work. He's strictly eating from a spoon, I'm scruffing him initially just to get him to lick and immediately once he licks he eats on his own. Once he starts eating from the spoon on his own I'll transition him to his plate so he can self serve lol. PM update; I left .5 oz of soup in his cage while at work and the bowl was licked clean so that was exciting. He ate 2.5oz for dinner and partially ate some on his own so that's also great! I am putting 1 oz of soup overnight since he ate half of his dinner on his own. So he strictly ate soup today about 6.8oz and if he eats his overnight soup he'd be up to 7.8oz today. I think he should be able to strictly be on soup now. Edit: he at the 1oz of soupie on his own last night!! -happy dance-

Morphs been eating 8oz of soup strictly for the past 2 days so it's so great to completely have him off of kibble within the first couple days of having him. Tonight I didn't add as much water and left some chunks in his soup so hopefully we'll see if he takes to it.

So yesterday morning when I woke up before work to make Morph soupie I completely forgot I ran out of chicken thighs. Not having time to run to the grocery store before work, I cut up some chicken hearts/gizzards as finely as I could and gave it to him. Hoping he would eat them until I got home so he wasn't hungry. I got home and he ate everything in his bowl . So I tried some diced chicken last night, to leave in his cage. He ate about 3/4 of it (I gave him a lot more than needed I was worried he was still hungry from breakfast). So today I'm chopping up some chicken, hearts, and gizzards. I sprinkled some cuttlebone dust on top of everything so he still gets his calcium until he can munch on bone. Tonight I'll try and see if he'll eat liver on its own without being in soupie. If so, no more need for soupie!

Thank you!
I have been trying to convince him that bone in meat is a good thing but he hasn't caught on yet. Lol

I have no clue if this will work. Here is chicken wing minus drumette. One of the mid sections is cut in between bone. One of mine found some jerky--I do not know if that helped her try bone.

My dude went to town and wrecked the bones in chicken wings bit I'm still not sure my girl eats it. I usually bash it with a hammer before giving it to her so it's smaller
