Bill is now snuggled down in his hammock. I think he wants the world to go away. Lots of meds and he did not eat anything at the vet. I am thinking about keeping him seperate tomorrow just so I can monitor his food, water, and poops while I'm at work. That might give me a good base work on in the evening.
All the other three came charging out of their kennel tonight and were wrestling for a good half hour straight!!! Then they eat, then they sleep.. LOL ahhhhh ferrets
Oh, incisor is one of the small front teeth, not the canine.

π oh my, I am definitely not a dentist. Welllll, in case that ever comes up, now you know, yeah? Keeping him separate to monitor is a great ideaβ€ can't be too careful some times! πππππ I love watching them all run at once in one direction, it makes me laugh so hard. Even better if I can get them to all bounce along the way. Do any of yours try to freak you out by bolting at you the last few feet, then swerving away at the last minute?

I separated Bill out today so I can monitor how he is doing. I spoon fed a mid thick soup to him this morning, he ate maybe 3/4 tbsp. Then he played a bit and slunk off back to his hammock. * I put about 1.5 ounces of soup in a dish for him to graze on today.*
The other three are eating the chunks of heart, but not much enthusiasm over the chunks of thigh, but they have decided the new ground turkey it okay. I will stop by the store and get more heart today. I will make an extended effort to hand feed the chunks of thigh tonight.

Nope, they are still trying to figure out the hard wood floors. Jack will find an area rug and act like he is stuck on an island. Tiny and Jezzy play rough and tumble quite a bit!!

Good news, Bill is now eating on his own again. He has not lost any weight. I kenneled him alone again today, and I think he will eat and sleep and poop!!! I know, little things right... Anyway, I did not get a chance to do the chunks last night, but when I went in to do breakfast this morning, all the dinner (standard soup, no chunks) was eaten. I will probably try the chunks on Sunday.

BWAHAHA!! I have an idea. I will use a cheese shredder to make small slivers for them to eat! I also asked the vet if I should be brushing Bill's teeth while the removals are healing, my instinct is to say no, but I thought I should ask them.

π you and I think way too much alike. I did that with organs once, didn't work out very well. Make sure and try it semi frozen though! How long did they say to let his mouth heal?

He gets his stitches out on the 18. Then I should start brushing again. The vet told me to leave it alone until then. Nice to have the vet validate what I was already thinking!
Yep, semi thaw thigh. I will throw the skin in the blender with the rest of the soup, can't see waisting good fat like that.

For sure! Also, are there any questions you have on anything that I can help clarify for you?

I am just trying to figure out how to get them to move beyond the soup. It seems to be fairly hit or mis, heavy on the mis. I think maybe I am making the pieces too big, so I will try the cheese grader tonight.
Since Bill just had two teeth removed I am not sure if I should offer him chunks with everyone else.
Next week I will have to get up extra early, so I will have time to work with them in the morning, along with a lot of coffee.

I always recommend starting off with pinky finger nail sized pieces and sneaking them in via small amounts. If they continue to snub the pieces, scruff and pop one in their mouths, then let them go. There are plenty of tricks to try, so if that doesn't work, there's always something new to try. I might just leave Bill alone for now, he can catch up later (hopefully it will be monkey see, monkey do at that point) Keep at it! You've already got them on the soup, so you are doing fantastic! Getting them on the soup is the biggest step.

The cheese grader was an epic fail!! So I chopped up the thigh, put it in a bowl and gave it to them. Reaction was: Jack at it!!! Bill tried to eat it!!! Tiny and Jezzy looked at it, looked at me, and blinked, ahh... Moved on to hold and offer, Jezzy took the meat and I think she ate it once inside her tunnel, I will have to look to make sure. Tiny flat refused, go figure first to soup, last to chunks.

I mixed in the left over thigh into an 11 ounce batch of soup this morning. Everyone was eating when I left for work, we will see if they lick those pieces clean when I get home.

Hi! Looks like you might be having some difficulties somewhere. Can you give me a summary of what you have been feeding and how big of chunks they are eating?
