Hey there, I just ordered an exit ramp for Rolo (6years after buying the FN...) I never had one before because the cats can climb inside to eat his food, but I've decided that since he's got insulinoma its really important that he be able to return to his cage to eat when he needs to.
So I need a way to prop the door open ajar for him to come & go, and to keep my cats out of his cage.... any ideas?

I do not know if you will like this idea. Some people are funny about cutting their ferret nation. Here is my cage in the works. Was trying to find a way to give ferrets more space without shelves and make it permanently open too. I cut three bars on cage and ziptied tube to ramp. Of course you could push tube inside of opening. Now the thinking is, that a cat will not want to crawl in the tube or can not fit.

Oh neat! Unfortunately I am one of those who is funny about cutting their FN's lol. I debated doing that for awhile and installing a microchip cat flap & getting Rolo microchipped. I sort of scrapped that idea because of the expense, and because our best guess is that Rolo will likely not make it more than another year the way he's going, and I do want to use the cage for fosters/rescues of the cat & ferret variety after he eventually passes and I won't need the add-ons for them. It really sucks that FN's don't come with a little ferret sized door that could open up within one of the larger door panels.

The thread title gave me a giggle. If they like it so much, why not buy them one. I won't be much help on this subject, good luck though!
