I live in Des Moines Iowa and I've recently gotten 4 ferrets and I've been looking online to try and find a good provider that is either has a shop in Iowa or will ship to iowa so i can switch my ferrets to a natural diet as they are currently eating Marshall's and I don't want to feed them this anymore

Hi and welcome to forum. So glad you joined us (dance) Would love to hear your story about ferrets and see pics . Hare Today, Perfect Prey, South Florida Rodents are some I use. Some people use Rodent Pro, I find Hare Today animals cleaner than rodent pro, although I have not purchased from the latter in a long time. They may be cheaper, but I am not sure. With Hare Today you have to purchase a minimum of 10 lbs, but it can be a mix and match of anything. Watch out for holiday shipping dates. If you have hunters in family, you can use that meat, but first freeze for two weeks to kill parasites. Neighbor has given me squirrels, and deer heart. One buddy of hubby gave me a skinned copperhead. It is still in freezer:))). I did read on post past,a guy from out west gave his ferrets a rattlesnake----without head of course. Check Farmers Market in your area. I find chicken hearts and quail eggs at mine. In spring I can get lamb hearts and kidneys. Asian stores sell quail generally. It will be in freezer section. If you find them at your grocery store make sure no enhancers are added---including salt. Here is a place to go to read about diet holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/17480/intro-raw-newbies-read

Thank you. I'm looking to sign up for the mentor program here but I first need to get a few things before I'm accepted. I want to make sure my babies are the healthiest they can be.

My Pet Carnivore is another online company that you can order various things from. I've not used them but a friend does and has for a couple of years now. She is happy with their products. I use Hare Today and am very happy with them.

I have encountered the same problem. It seems like when it comes to raw, ordering online is the way to go. There are all kinds of raw providers! Try to find one that is the closest to you, it will make shipping much cheaper. I'm lucky Hare Today is in PA, which is close to OH. Otherwise, I would have to be paying $20-40 for shipping from other providers!
