Our poor little izzy sadly died yesterday. It was such a shock, as yesterday morning she her normal mad self and then when I got home from work she had died. She was even 2. Me and my girls are so upset, she was such a loving ferret and loved playing with the kids. We are going to miss her so much

I'm so very sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you. I would like to urge you to look into getting a necropsy, especially if her passing happened out of nowhere. Positive thoughts for you and your family

I am so very very sorry I would also strongly suggest a necropsy given she WA so young and healthy just prior. If nothing else it can give you some peace of mind in knowing exactly what happened.

Agreed with Aftershock and Sherry, strongly urge the necrospy. I am sorry you lost her. Do you have any other babies? If you do I would strongly let them say good bye before you do anything with the body.

Thank you for your messages. We took her to the vets and she had wood in her throat, they say she chocked. I looked in there bedding area which is made of wood as is there whole shed and there was nothing that had been chewed that I could see. But saying that the pieces of wood were very small

But saying that the pieces of wood were very small Is their bedding wood shavings? If so I would definitely recommend using blankets instead. Ferrets love blankets and wood shavings aren't good for their respiratory system and it's not very comfy. I am sorry she choked that's awful. At least you know what happened.

They live outside so there's shed is made of wood and there bedding area is also made of wood but they have loads of blankets and old clothes for bedding. The wood that it's all made out of is ply wood and I think it was that she had in her throat. It's just so sad to think of how she went.
