I used the generic 98 cent shower curtain hooks and run meat and wings through them kinda like I'm baiting a fish hook and hang their dinner from the roof of the cage. The boys would fight over the food and steal from baby Bear and hoard it all in a corner while she stared at them.
Now they can't hoard the food without a lot of work. So Bear actually gets to eat while I'm at work but it seems to rather disgruntle Satan. He will death grip a chicken wing, pull and hiss angrily as if it's going to convince the hook to let go.
The other two get the point and eat it just fine but he spent a good minute or two just hissing at the hook this last time.
It got to the point Baby was actually eating his chicken wing while he just stood there with a mouthful of wing hissing at the world.
Just remember to discard then if they start to rust.
the discount store ones I don't believe are stainless steal. The ones I got from there rusted. The ones I got from home depot did not rust. They were also stronger and did not bend when putting meat on the hooks
Since I have switched to whole prey I am actually not using them any more.
They used to do that, but it actually helps clean there teeth. since they are pulling at the meat and not just taking it to a corner where the chew the meat, They will eventually stop competing once they figure out that they cannot take it and hide in a corner with it anymore. That will not stop them from trying and they will eventually rip some pieces off and go to a corner but that leaves the rest for the others.
I have a video of Mogwai trying to get the meat off the hooks by biting hold of the meat and jumping out the cage. Looks like ferret bungee jumping.
