I gave the ferrets a bath in flea and tick shampoo with pyrethrins.
Everyone seemed fine but next morning Nero was coughing and sneezing. He's still playful in short spurts, eating and going to the bathroom. I'm going to separate him from the others. I called the vet they said as long as he's still playing and eating he should be fine without coming in and he's probably just caught a cold. To bring him in if he vomits, stops eating is lethargic, etc.
I was wondering if there was any holistic treatments I could offer him besides the humidifier.

What was the brand of flea and tick shampoo?
There is no holistic treatments since you are not 100% certain of the cause for the coughing and sneezing or weezing. It could be due to shedding, or maybe a hair or a little dust up the nose, but if it persists It would be worth to have a vet check up.

Assuming it is just a cold like the vet suggested, what could I do for him? I have a humidifier in his room, held him in the shower with me so he could breath the steam. Is there like a supplement that could help him to Boost his immune system or something?

What you need to watch for are neurological issues. Twitching, shaking, losing control of his legs or body, and seizures.

What you're describing is two different possible issues.....problems caused by the flea meds and a possible upper respiratory infection. Two very separate problems. You appear to be concerned with the respiratory issue, I'd be very concerned about the possibility of toxic reaction to the shampoo. If your boy indeed has a respiratory issue then chances are the rest of your business will be affected within days of each other. Did you mention the possible toxic reaction to the flea bath to the vet or did you just raise the issue of coughing and sneezing? ciao

NEVER, EVER use stuff containing pyrethrins for ferrets or cats. It is toxic for them. Watch them closely for neurological issues, eating / pooping pattern ...
The sneezing/coughing thing is not related (it is not a clinical sign connected with toxicity). You can wait if they sneeze or cough a couple times a day (5x max). If it persist for more than two, three days, if it get worse (like more often, more "deep", or if they change their feeding pattern, become less playfull) - go to vet.

Besides sneezing and coughing a bunch he seems fine. He's even like 10x more playful at the moment. I gave them all a bath in Dawn soap the next morning to make sure I got rid of the chemical when I thought Nero might be reacting to it.
