I can't express how much I love this puppy pen I bought for traveling with the ferrets. I've had it for months now and can't believe how durable it is. I love that it's easy to set up and fold away and comes with a carry bag. It's got pockets on the sides for treats/leashes/whatever and the top and bottom zip off for easy cleaning and total access. The top doubles as a trampoline. My girls love to be tossed up there and bounce around. I've seen a lot of expensive play pens for ferrets and this one is pretty affordable and I think very effective. I paid about $40 but I've seen them on amazon for as low as $25. Sometimes I put them in here at night if they are banging on the cage bars and they have fun playing (quietly). There are doors on each side that can be unzipped and neatly folded up. The mesh is breathable but heavy duty enough to withstand sharp little claws and the bottom is waterproof, removable and machine washable. I just love it and wanted to share. It's seriously a life saver at night when they want to party and makes travel so much easier. I only wish I had bought the one in pink! www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PQ0FOAU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1477079081&sr=8-3&keywords=puppy+playpen&pi=SX200_QL40

I would love it if my destructoferrets would not shred that to pieces. I have tried similar constructed Carriers and pens and they have destroyed them in a matter of an hour.
I would definitely not leave them unsupervised and expect them to be in there when you come back. But maybe you have perfect angels. But since they are sprites I doubt that. LOL

I"m afraid my experience with this particular containment unit was not very favourable either :pullhair: The B&E twins went through the screen portion. It took them about 5 minutes :face: ciao

I think most of ours would be ok with it for a few hours. Without testing I'd be afraid to trust it overnight uness you trust yout ferrets to free roam during the day. I have a couple that would scratch their way out over time.

I tested it in my ferret proofed bedroom for a few nights with me sleeping next to them before I brought it anywhere else. They scratch and bite at the mesh a bit but have been completely unsuccessful in ripping it or opening anything. At first I was afraid they would figure out the zippers so I would tie the zipper pulls together with a ziptie for a little extra protection but it was not necessary. Y'all are making me really grateful my babies aren't more destructive! I haven't had any problems with this (not from lack of them trying their hardest). Here's a picture of mine with toys and stuff in it. I'm really sorry this has been unsuccessful for others because I love it so much! These girls drive me crazy banging on the cage bars at night and I wouldn't be able to sleep some nights without this. I have a privacy cover coming in the mail this week that I'm hoping will help with this problem. Do any of you have a cover? And does it stop them? Or do you have any other ideas on how to stop cage biting/banging?

The best solution for cage rage is ferret exhaustion. With babies it is a lot more difficult to exhaust them, They are like rechargeable batteries that only take 30 min to fully charge.
When they are older it is much easier to exhaust them.
I have one cage rage ferret and he is always the last one to exhaust and the first one to want out in the morning and he is already 5 years old.

They usually get 3 to 4 hours outside of their cage minimum. The cage is in my bedroom and I don't want them out while I sleep because they will steal things (jewelry, wallet, keys, etc) and generally get into trouble. I think it's because they see me and if I get up to use the bathroom or move too much they think they should come out again. I got the privacy cover today and they already seem to like how dark it is. I hope they won't be so naughty when they can't see me, but of course I play with them to tire them out. It's also better when I change the cage setup once a week. I think they get bored with it if I keep it the same.
Outside their cage they have 2 dig boxes (a ball pit and one filled with macaroni) lots of tunnels, a crinkle cat tube, balls, rope toys, and I have a few cat teaser toys they love to chase as well as a RC car. I play tag with them, give them a little pool to swim in sometimes, hand-wrestletc with them, Noodle even does some tricks for me.
I work nights so most of their time out is in the morning before work (between 9:00am and 3:00pm) but I still let them out for another hour when I get home around 10:30. I'm trying to get my schedule changed in the next month or so. I think we'd all be happier if I had more time at night free...
