I qould be the same if it happened to Bo or Blaze. I'm so excited that this is going so well Do you think half slivers and half soup is too big of a ratio?

Same here, I even think about mine passing away and I can start myself into a bawling session.
Nope, try it and see if the little sharks eat it! :heehee:

Eventually the goal is to have there be no soup at all right?

Well, unfortunately, someone decided to use the last of my chicken thighs (labeled 'Ferret Meat') and make tacos for themselves and friends. *Sigh*
I won't be able to go to the store for a day or two. I have soup enough till then, but I won't be able to put in chunks until I get paid.

I'm sure they were haha. I have a question. (Kind of off-topic.) The weekly menu outline has days for organs and boneless/bone-in. If I were do a whole prey day, does it matter what day I should do it on? On a funnier note, Bo has decided he doesn't care if the soup is frozen or not. I guess my aunt put the blocks in their bowl frozen last night and I walk in to see him gnawing on the frozen cube

Frozen meals are great for treats on hot days as well! It's awesome stimulation once they are fully switched to offer meals in a variety of ways, warm, frozen, soup, chunks, whole, etc. Frozen meals can also slow down speedy eaters and help meat last longer if you have an extra long work day or it's particularly warm in the house.

That's really cool! I had no idea about all that. In other news, a friend brought me a couple thighs. I mixed in an ounce of aoup to an ounce of cut up thigh and they ate it! (Oh! And I'll post that log in a few.)

:boing: Seriously, it kind of shocks me how easy they are taking this. Not a bad thing, but holy cow!

I was honestly expecting a lot more of a fight with them haha.
Okay, here's an odd thing. They're eating it all, only they're leaving a few chunks in the bowl (no soup) and then I'll come back later and it will be gone. Is that something to worry about?

Same here actually. Hee hee, no, nothing to worry about. The soup is easier to eat, so they eat it first. Keep upping the amount of pieces vs soup, you are doing amazing! You're still filling up their dish when it empties right? (Just making sure, the pieces phase can be weird)

Yep! I work at home so I've gotten into the habit of checking on them every few hours. The only problem is now Blaze has taken to chewing on the plastic bowl I've been feeding them out of, (My dad ruled out using people plates for food, and they kept throwing the paper plates down the cage regardless if it had food or not) so when I get a chance I should probably invest in a different dish for their feedings. Breakfast was soup, lunch was 1/2 soup and 1/2 bits, I think dinner will be 3/4 bits ans 1/4 soup. I swear I haven't forgotten about that log! Also, I've heard of giving ferrets salmon oil. Is that good for them? What's the purpose/suggested dosage? Sorry for the word vomit haha. A lot of that was probably unnecessary. Oops.

You are awesome! Those two sure are lucky to have you! I would try a metal or ceramic bowl. and maybe even get a couple of cheap plates from a thrift store around. (Seriously, plates and ferrets just make sense) I know you haven't forgot. Keep up the amazing work! Salmon oil is amazing! I use it with my own for litter box training, nail trims, and introducing new proteins. It's great for their skin and omega 3s. ^-^ I personally only give them a lick or two a day. A nifty little trick is getting an eye dropper bottle, that way you don't give them too much at a time. (I can't remember the maximum amount per week, but I know it wasn't very much.) hey, I word vomit at you, you're allowed to do it back.
