Scarlett and I got a puppy recently and he is up to date on all shots. He went to a play group last week and seems to have contracted kennel cough. Is there any concern about any of our business catching this from him? If so what steps can we take to prevent them from catching it ? They until now have had only very supervised playtime together.
We sent a video clip an and photos to vet for example. She confirmed it's kennel cough. Thanks Jami

Here is a thread and also something else from pet ed. holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/9468www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=11+2071&aid=565Gosh,learning something new here. I think i would do a quarantine and wash hands very good and often after feedings (pup). Bordatella bronchiseptia (kennel cough) is normal to be carried by dogs, cats, humans, and ferrets; the disease asserts itself when the immune system is stressed or when the animal is exposed to high concentrations (such as when boarding your ferret in a dog kennel). Do not treat ferrets with preventive dog medications (nasal drops); these can CAUSE bordatella; treat with antibiotics post-infection. www.cypresskeep.com/Ferretfiles/Diseases-FM.htm

Definitely treat him and watch the ferrets for it.
