So I'm currently planning out a new pad for my guys as their current home is getting a bit worn. I'm planning on making it multi level to give them as much space as I can but I have a question about floor access. In their current hutch they have a normal ramp but its quite slippery and I want to avoid that, so I was considering making a ramp and lining it with carpet to make it easier for them, is there any reason I shouldn't do this? My other option is to use tubes for them to crawl through, but would they be comfortable with such heavy use?

No, you could use both. Or put something on the ramp, like cross bars (i dont know what is a proper english phrase for this, tough).

The cage I have uses crossbars and then a fleece removable cover. I have seen cages use tunnels as "stairs" so I don't think that would be a problem either.
