So I'm building a ferret cage and want to attach some tunnels to get to different levels. What brand would be good for this? I don't like the plastic black tubing cause you can't see thru it, but the Marshall's brand ferret tubing looks too thin (from Internet pics at least) to attach long-term to his cage. Any ideas or suggestions?

The kind of tubing that is tough enough is built for outdoor use and probably won't be see-through. That really is your best bet because the see-through kinds are probably all going to be soft plastic that they could tear through with their claws/teeth and escape.

look for tubing used for dust collecting in wood working. They are some see through and some semi see through. It is expensive But the stuff I bought is going on 7 years with just a few teeth marks at the ends The stuff I got does not have any wire and is semi rigid not super flexible like the marshalls stuff. Is came in 20 foot lengths you can see through it enough to identified a ferret. Here is a pic of a small section I used to keep my clumsy ferrets from falling off the ramps in their cage. here is a picture of one a put going down the stairs in my old house

Yes, I use the sawdust tubes for my guys too. It's the only one strong enough to withstand rough play....it's not foolproof though....my poley girls went through it the other night :pullhair: I was trying to figure out how they were playing in the 55 gal fish tank and trying to catch my jellybeans. Turns out they'd ripped themselves an escape route (little shiites) and were honing their fishing skills. So, not foolproof but definitely worth a lot more then those stupid flimsy marshals tubes (my wee girls had that ripped apart in less than 5 minutes. You can also buy the colourful hard tubes but they're really expensive. My minky loves them ciao

go on walmart.com and search for dust collection hose. The 4" hose is extremely rugged but youll need A sturdy wire cutting pliers to cut it. We have one thats almost 10 years old. We bought another this summer under $20. Have it shipped to store for free pickup
