I've never had a problem with trimming my girls' nails, I can easily trim their nails while they sleep away. Its less stressful for me, and them!
But i'm always worried about that unlucky day where I might hit the quick. If that happens, how do I treat it? I looked around on the forum, and couldn't find anything about it (unless i'm just not looking deep enough)
I want to be prepared, just in case.
Any ideas ?
Thank you!

You can use cornstarch or if you're really stuck you can use flour. You can use styptic powder or stick and keep it in first aid box. I just use cornstarch. ciao

When my vet clipped one of my ferret's claws short to get blood for a BG test, they said they apparently had trouble getting it to stop bleeding with a normal styptic powder. They ended up using something that I believe they referred to as "Chinese soil".
