I've been feeding them rehydrated FDR and canned epigen while I wait for the first bag of wysong digestive support to show up. We are in the process of switching off of marshals food. I know a lot of people say you need to brush their teeth especially if you feed them wet food so what do you use for your ferrets?

I used the toothpaste I got from the vet. It works better than over the counter stuff at the pet store and it's roughly the same price. I would try to add chicken necks (you might have to chop them into smaller pieces in the beginning) and wing tips (they might have to work their way up to chicken wings) into their diet. That'll help them have healthy teeth and gums.

Why not stick with the fdr and switch them to a Frankenprey diet? When they are on bone their teeth get cleaned by the bone. Not only is a raw diet healthier it's also better for their teeth too. Brushing can only do so much, bone in meats are the best and most natural way to clean teeth:)

So vet toothpaste. As for the raw diet I don't have as much time as I'd like and I'm trying to establish a good kibble for them at the moment.
I do slip in some store bought chicken here and there though.
Where can I get chicken necks I've been having trouble with that.
I am intrested in a raw diet though I want them to have the best and will probably seek a mentor at one point to help me switch right now I just only have time for kibble with the new job and other personal problems.

Given you don't have the time for a full raw why not just leave them on freeze dried raw? That is much healthier than any kibble. Yes you will still have to brush teeth (make your own using powdered eggshell and a favourite oil to make a paste ). As for chicken necks talk to a local butcher, or if you have any pet "boutiques" near you they will carry them in their frozen raw section.
