The same as with the heart. Don't you know the measurement on it? Like weight wise how many oz of mince did you use with how many oz of heart/organ mix?

Okay for organs. Since Pepsi and nippy eat together totaling 8 ounces. You could substitute 2 or 3 oz of the organs with a mince. So put the organs through the blender add the mince in the blender and make sure it's all nice and even and see if they will eat it. If they do gradually start taking the mince away and replacing it with organ Fury since he only eats 3 ounces take one ounce away of organ and add an ounce of mince. See if that helps. Pepsi and nippy had 3oz mince with 5oz organs between them... Furzy had 1 oz mince and 2 oz of organs

So in case something happens, what are some good taurine sources if you run out of heart? Especially if it is an emergency.

I have read tongue is good as well as tourine powder ? Yes! The more the muscle is used the more taurine is in it. So cows tongues are used Dailey for hours and hours creating lots of taurine. Same with hearts they have to beat to keep the animal alive. Taurine powder should be used as an extreme emergency. If you can not find hearts or tongue then it is better to supplement with powder than not at all. You are doing really good by the way. Your babies are doing good as well. Have a couple more questions on taurine. If you are in such a bind that you have to use taurine powder how much should you give a ferret per day? One other question do you know why it is important that ferrets get taurine?

Ferrets cant manufacture their own tourine so it vital in their diet for organ health.
Powder substitute is 500mg /day

Apologies for my delayed start to the week. I had a very poorly distraught 4 year old yesterday 😷😔
Furzy now weighs 4.01 lbs and Pepsi 3.15 lbs.
We have had to rehome Nippy with our breeder for ferret socialising and retraining as he had bitten up Pepsi's shoulders. Pepsi is fine, a little bit scabby but still in good spirits and health!
Menu
Monday Am duck necks Pm chicken wings
Tuesday Am lamb breast Pm chicken wings
Wednesday Am beef chunks Pm turkey chunks

Ferrets cant manufacture their own tourine so it vital in their diet for organ health. Powder substitute is 500mg /day If you ever have to supplement with taurine powder. Try to do 250 MG twice daily. Instead of the whole 500 MG at once. The reason I recommend that is the body can only soak up so much taurine in one sittung. You have better chance of getting more taurine into the body to be used doing it twice daily vs all at once.

Are they eating these well? Like the necks and wings? The only thing you are having issues with getting them to eat is heart and organs correct?

You may well just need to separate them during rut. Where are you located again? We're headed into winter so they should be coming out of rut if anything, but AUS is backwards... lol How long will he be with the breeder, and what will his diet be during that time?
