Still taking care of Roscoe around the clock. He is eating on his own now so that's good he just isn't eating a lot. I'm giving Max and Chloe bone in five days a week. Chicken legs, wings, drumettes, Cornish hen, they also get grinds and their heart meals and organ meals. I'm adding eggshell powder to Mojo, Zoe, and Toby's food. They aren't eating the bone in. They are eating the course grind mixed with the fine grind. Just not the wings or legs or Cornish hen. They are difficult.

Roscoe died this morning. I was taking him to the vet and on the way there, he had a seizure and died. ðŸ˜

I'm so sorry about Roscoe, I know we talked a bit in pm but he is at peace now. Have you tried using a cleaver on the wings and things to chop them up very small yet for Mojo and Zoe?

I did use the cleaver and Mojo ate a piece and I thought he was going to choke to death! He finally coughed it up. It scared me! Now he isn't eating a good as he was. It's like he's scared to eat the food now.

What size did you chop it to? Was it small enough that he thought he could just swallow it? Is he eating better now that it has been a couple of days?

I did chop it up pretty small. He is eating a little better. What size do they need to be? He was chewing, though. It isn't like he was lapping it up like soup and just swallowing.

I would say an inch to an inch and a half at least. That way it is still pretty small but large enough that they know they can not just swallow it down.

Okay! Thank you! I will try that and see what results I get. Toby eats it but then again, Toby pretty much takes to anything. I took him to the vet (two different ones) and they both say he's overweight.

lol, well does he have a pear shape to him? If not I'm sure he is just fine. If you could manage a picture of him dangling I could let you know.

When I got Toby, he was overweight. He has always had this problem. He is up and down with his weight quite a bit. He has started with mucus poop like Roscoe had. Both vets think it's separation anxiety. Him and Roscoe were cage mates and played every morning and he doesn't have that now.

Yes, I'm sure he is stressed after the loss of his cage mate. Can he join with one of the other 2 groups?

That's great, hopefully he will stop grieving more quickly then he would otherwise. You can try giving him a little more attention and lovings then normal to help also.
