Yikes, I purchased large guinea pigs 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs.
A few nips here and there, and I can pull hide off with my hands. Not with these. The fat, ribs and organs is what I can keep. Dog got extremities, which right now he is looking at me like ---what in the world is this?
Even the large white rats---I find are a little on the tough side. One of my babies was choking on the tummy skin of a large rat. It was so tough. It was like a plug in her esophagus. Her tail bushed out--- good thing i was nearby. I reached in and tugged at it. I usually throw this part away now.
Well. It looks like medium prey for me.

She must have tried to swallow a long strip instead of scissoring off a piece she could get down, and yes good thing you were on hand in that case. It is likely just a learning curve for her thankfully. Good luck on the guinea pigs!

I had the same Problem with older rabbits. They did not like the meat and the bones splintered sharp when I cut them, I stopped buying Larger older rabbits.
