Well, its definite that ALL of Missy's made it through their first night which I am so relieved about. As for Tilly, I found three dead kits at the entrance of her nestbox and its still very quiet in there, I think I can only hear one or two! Im very worried now, if its still quiet tomorrow I think Im going to have a look and see.

Hi everyone, i decided to check Tillys nestbox and sadly there is only ONE left! . Tilly seems pretty happy though which is the most important thing and the last kit seems pretty healthy aswell. As for Missy, all five are still alive and healthy

Aw I am sorry that the kits didn't make it. Was this her first litter? At least she is taking it well. Firefox is a member here and one of her girls lost a baby last year. For months she kept going to look for the baby and trying to find it. She had a tough time dealing with the loss. So I am glad Tilly is taking it well. I am glad Misty's babies are doing well so far. Fingers crossed! I can't wait to see pics of squiggly little ferret babies!

No it was her second litter. Her first litter, she had ten but only three survived! So i was hoping this year it would be a few more but it must of been just a bit too much for her but she does seem pretty happy with her little one. So sad to hear about Firefox's little girl, poor thing!

I bet her large litter size contributes. It's stressful on mom having that many babies, and the babies themselves will tend to be smaller/weaker. Interesting that she had exactly 10 both times...

I'm so sorry for the loss of the kits, a prayer & a candle for them, and a hope that the other youngsters grow proud & strong

Poor mommy But at least mom and baby are healthy and happy. Glad Missy's litter is fairing well! Cannot wait for pics (I know we have to wait longer, but with all these babies being born I'm so anxious to see them!).
