I have heard many testomonies about the success of these "remote-litterboxes"... Is it true that these work like a miracle and that the ferret/ferrets have a 100% hit rate of using it???

I have never made one, so i will let others comment on that.
However, if you have free roamers, you will need potties in different rooms or puppy pads. As mine have gotten older and watched a good potty-goer, mine have gotten better. But i do have one who likes to mark here and there, and then if tummies r tore up or whatever, don't expect all to care where they go;))

Personally, you still have to do some training to get them to use it since places like the pet store just let them go wherever they want, but since teaching my two boys (They are getting close to a year old) use it religiously. My new addition has been surprisingly amazing (almost no training required), but she needs a few training tweaks with her potty training. She's only had one in cage accident since we got her, and that's been about a week and a half, and it was a more recent thing. We also built an out of cage litter box similar to the remote set up (same 18 gallon tub, same toilet flange) and they all have been pretty amazing at using it. I wanted to build an out of cage one that was similar to straighten out any confusion in any of the ferrets, especially since one of mine is extremely picky with stuff like this. I think he has had one out of cage accident since we made it, and that's been about a month. Same with my other boy, one out of cage accident since it was built.

Do you mean remote litter box as in the automatic cat ones? if so I heard those can be dangerous because they can get caught in the mechanism that sweeps the litter

The box is its own area in itself. It uses the instinct a ferret has to use a completely different area as a bathroom. As an example, this is my remote litter box:
