Hello all, It's been forever since I had time to sit down and get on the forum, too bad its for this! Yesterday Oxley had a couple of thin poops (like a pile of noodles but a little thicker). Today he hasn't had one solid bowel movement but the amount is still normal as is the color and I haven't found anything out of the ordinary in it. As of right now he still gets up to play and eat but I don't want to put off a possible emergency if that is what this is. It is hard to imagine that this is a blockage due to the fact that he has never been a chewer, but perhaps its a hairball?
Can thin stool end up being nothing?
Should I continue to watch him for further signs of a blockage or start the protocol?
Thanks everyone!

Rule 1---never think your ferret will not chew something he is not suppose to or think that because he eats raw meat it pacifies his chewing. Maybe someone else will chime in-- I know if it is hair, they say whip up an egg. l I really do not know which to tell u. Did protocol on two ferrets yesterday. I always carry in huge quantities of groceries and lay them on floor or couch when i come in door. I purchased a 2-pak of vacuumed sealed cornish hens---thought i would let the ferrets play with the frozen solid birds. It never, ever crossed my mind that they were sitting on a styrofoam tray, and yes they chewed one end --styrofoam bits on floor and bits in tray. I had to go back to store and get some canned pumpkin. Anyway.... to make vaseline and pumpkin more palatable---I put salmon oil in both and hubby scruffed while i gave first bites, then they licked off finger. Never saw any styrofoam in pumpkin stools--hope they did not eat it.

Thank you for responding and I agree that he could have eaten something...you just never know with these little ones. I started the protocol a few min ago and he hated the pumpkin! I had to scruff and syringe feed it to him and he spit most of it out! I'll try mixing it with something he loves next go around. As of right now he is finally up and exploring the house like normal, I'll keep an eye on his poop and keep going on the protocol.
Thanks again.
