was thinking cornish was a particular fowl(like ducks, turkey quail)--- after research, understand they r young, crossed bred chickens.

Cornish game hens are more expensive per pound than a normal fryer so why is my question. A diet heavily reliant on chicken or game hens in unbalanced and in need for other bone in meats. A diet that consists of CGH and chicken for the bone in meats is not a solid diet. Truthfully, this shouldn't come as a surprise. Even if you only want to feed fowl, you've got turkey, duck and chicken (there's 3 bone in meats) ciao Can you only feed fowl? Also how many times a week is acceptable to feed gch in your opinion? |

Don't forget quail. Personally, I think they are the best-sized bird for ferrets.

No, any smaller bone in meat will work. This week my guys got chicken, fish, rabbit, rats and mice. Last week they got rabbit, CGH, turkey, chicken, duck, ASF and some chicks for fun. It depends on how much chicken you've got on your menu. You've got 7 to 9 bone in meals per week....if 5 or more of those meals are chicken or a combination of chicken and CGH then you're relying too heavily on chicken

Rabbit is a red meat but it's very low in taurine, unless it's wild caught

So in conclusion feeding game hen once or twice a week in the menu is acceptable as long as you aren't chicken heavy already correct?

Yes, Just count it as chicken instead of another variety and go from there.
