I'm not quite ready for a new one yet, but I'd love to find someone I could buy from when I'm prepared for a new fuzzbutt. I would prefer to not go through a pet store. Just trying to gather information for when the time comes

Check out PVO ferrets online. Pam VanOverloop is a wonderful breeder who lives in Ohio. She babysits our ferrets when we go on any vacation. Pam is familiar with most breeders and in August will be at the Buckeye Bash. www.pvoferrets.com/Good Breeders are always careful with whom they place their kits. Expect questions and a vetting process. Good luck :wave2:

Personally, if you're not looking right away, I would be going to some ferret shows and talking up some breeders. At this time of year, most of the babies have homes but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be starting your research. Nancy on here, has a litter of kits on the ground this year but I don't know if they're not all spoken for. Many breeders have waiting lists as well. ciao

I'll have to look up the ferret shows around me, to be honest I didn't realize there was such a thing. I suppose it makes sense since there are dog and cat shows. Excellent idea Heather thank you!! @poncesmom Thanks a bunch! Ohio isn't too bad of a drive from here, I'll check her out!!

The Buckeye Bash in Columbus is a great show, I believe the next on the list with a lot of breeders and ferret people showing up. It gives you an idea as to what is out there. It's fun too....I'm going to be there this year ciao

Breeders also keep kits back for breeding that they change their minds about and are available at under a year old

The Buckeye Bash has one of our leading ferret experts Bob Church who will attend. It's worth the trip simply to hear him speak.

Pam Van Overloop is featured on this PBS special. Last summer when we picked up our ferrets from her ferret camp, I had such an experience meeting other breeders and seeing the new kits. How can you beat learning from someone so special and such a part of the ferret community. :wave3:
