www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ITTMQ2E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ( said play pen in question) i got this pen of amazon to keep saturn in, (i haven't completely finished ferret proofing and well he likes to jump on me and stuff whilst I'm trying to clean his cage. i dont like putting him in the pet carrier because thats his time out place. its quite large & i thought the base was attached... well its not.. and saturn within 5 minutes of being in the pen had crawled under the liner and had escaped and was wrestling with my leg whilst i had a litter tray in one had and a poop bag in the other. i tried turning it upside down so the mesh lid was on the bottom but he can climb out quite easily. any suggestions on what i could do with the base to make it more ferret proof ? any ideas appreciated? Thanks in advance.

because it is cloth and they are diggers I'm not sure it can be ferret proofed.

I see in the description that it says it uses velcro, but fuzzies being the determined little rascals they are that I'm betting yours is finding gaps in between the panels... The only solutions I can think of would be ones that permanently mar the pen--i.e., perhaps stapling all the edges firmly together--which would be a bit of work, and as libbyw said, cloth cannot be trusted.

Unfortunatly I live in the Czech Republic and this was sort of my only option, I think stapling the edges maybe the way to go

Ferrents who use playpens often find it helpful to put some PVC piping along the top. Its too hard for them to grip and get a leg up. You simply put the PVC piping along the top. Then do as you said and secure the bottom part. YOUTUBE has some good videos on how to secure ferret playpens. They're so darn smart.

I couldn't work with this model. Within less than 5 minutes the B&E twins had gone through the mesh on the side. Lady Morgaine can climb it without any issue. I use (hate to say it) a Marshals 11 panel play pen with canvas bottom and top ciao
