Well Koda used to be a wild raging spitfire. He was trial by fire - to put it lightly. But he's old and has heart disease so he spends most of his time sleeping these days. As for the wedding oh trust me I TRIED to have a small wedding. I wanted small, non-traditional, casual, and SIMPLE. It has turned into none of those. [img src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/ .png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/ .png"] That means more cuddles! (dance) Speaking of ferret cuddles, I managed to get Croc, who was fighting sleeping, to pass out in my arms. Apparently he ended up sticking his tongue out. Sweet boy. See my mother in law probably would have made it bigger than we ended up doing if she would have had her way. I had already had my dress (an elven dress from etsy (gorgeous and only $200)) figured out and she kept trying to push me to go to bridal fairs. She had decided she was a wedding planner because her two girls had gotten married. My step mother knows better than to push me. I am likely to throw it out the window and be spontaneous. (I have been married once before, it was also a small wedding put together last minute) The kicker was that open enrollment for health insurance at my husband's work came up and it turns out that if he would have had health insurance and I didn't and we got married in May like we were planning it would have acted as if neither of us had it and would penalize both of us for that time. So two days before Christmas we invited my dad, step mom, three of my friends that are more like siblings, his sister's and their husbands, his grandpa, and his mom to BJ's Bayou (the owner is mayor Roberts, ID and a catholic minister). We didn't tell his mom, so it was a shock to her. We got pictures of it even. I basically did the same thing the first time I was married, so my side was more just happy that they liked Trevor so much. I'm such a mean child!

I just want to leave a little notice - I won't be super active until Thursday. My baby corn snake Artemis escaped 2 nights ago and we can't find him ðŸ˜. He's so small & I'm so worried about him. I'm tearing my apartment apart over & over looking for him.

Thank you! This snake will be the death of me. Dare I say it, worse than a ferret. I had a different tank, set up on the floor since this morning. An hour ago, I found him in there. Yay! Right?! NO!!!! I put the lid on this NEW tank, locked ALL FOUR LOCKS, go to grab him a mouse. Guess who isn't there when I get back? Not two minutes! At least I know the little jerk is near. I set out a THIRD tank, and when I catch him in stuffing his scaly butt in a pillowcase, then going to Walmart & buying a Rubbermaid container I will drill little holes in. He is about a foot long, and only as big around as a pencil. He fits anywhere. Or I'm a wizard, accidentally removing his glass walls when I'm not paying attention. I know they say pets are good for health. But I've honestly lost 10 years off my life.

Klarissa, I use foam pipe covers. They have a slit to slip it into the pipes, which you can slip over the tank rim. This creates a tight seal against the tank lid so they can't slip out. It works great! I'd take pics for you but I'm not home until Aug.

Sneaky snake is sneaky! I'm glad you were able to find him! I would giggle super hard after you create a seal on the lid and you watch him trying to escape. I laughed like a jerk after putting locks on my ferret cage doors because Gator figured out how to get out. He tried it right in front of me. I'm not much help on snake security, our ball pythons, king snake, and boa never tried to escape. The only other thing I could think that may create a tighter seal would be a homemade wooden lid. On another note, I got a thirty pound box of turkey necks.

Woot! Good score on the turkey necks! I would smash them up a little bit with a hammer or mallet, then cut them into little chunks to maximize the amount of bone they can eat from them.

You think I could feed them for three meals a week? Mondays and Thursdays have double CGH, so I was thinking about doing turkey neck as a replacement on those two days, and maybe Saturday night. I was talking to my best friend in North Carolina and one of her friends from Idaho Falls breeds show rabbits and sells the rest for meat rabbits, so I'm going to get ahold of him. He's been selling them to the butcher for $5 a rabbit, where everywhere else I've seen has been $10.

Can you outline what the menu will look like with the turkey necks? Try and have equal CGH to turkey for now until you can incorporate more bone in. Yay rabbits! Rabbits are full of awesome bones for ferrets. Good size & density.
Also, about the butcher & organs - have you asked about sweet breads? This is usually a mix of thymus & pancreas, sometimes brain.

I'm not sure why it's called sweet breads - very misleading. But it looks like this: www.google.ca/search?q=sweetbreads&client=ms-android-oneplus&prmd=ivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiXqdvr0fHNAhUi2oMKHQk2D2YQ_AUIBygB&biw=360&bih=559#imgrc=k7tzb8HTy0XrQM%3AI'm checking butchers for it this weekend because it adds a lot of nutrient dense organs - possibly a few depending on the butchers recipe. That menu looks good! You & your fuzzies are doing great. I want to do a little quiz to see where you're at 1. What is the minimum amount of proteins necessary for a balanced diet? 2. What is the importance of taurine & what is it found in? 3. a) Your ferrets stools are hard & powdery - what is this a sign of & how do you correct it? b) Your ferrets stools are soft - what is this a sign of & how do you correct it? Good luck! Off topic - snakey is still AWOL I left his tank sans lid in the living room with a mouse, shut off the lights & hid in the bedroom. Sly little snakey climbed in, ate the mouse & climbed out. But he explores every night between 10-11pm, so I'm sure he will revisit. I doubt he goes more than 6ft from the tank. But he is small enough to fit in spaces only 1/8 inch big, so he can get places I can't check.

That is gross looking, but amazing because it has extras! 1. The minimum is 3, but the more variety the better it is for the ferret. 2. Ferrets cannot make taurine themselves, so it must be fed to them. A ferret lacking in taurine can develop heart problems and blindness. The two best options for taurine that come to mind are hearts and beef tongue. 3. A) They are getting too many bone in meals which means too much calcium, they need more muscle meats. B) Honestly, my first thoughts are 'what color are they?' and 'what did they last eat?' But I'm pretty sure the answer you are looking for is to up their bone in meals because they are getting too many muscle meats. But there's always the chance that they just ate an organ meal, in which case they should get a bone in meal next. or if it's yellow they ate egg. I'm seriously probably over thinking this question. That snake, is super freaking cute! Ohhhhh, I bet he is soooo soft! I bet he's hiding somewhere warm. That snake, may be the most clever little sneak I've heard of!

Perfect score! Over thinking isn't a bad thing, it's a sign you own ferrets, lol. It's great you understand the short term effects some meals have on stools. Organ poops can be alarming (in sight & smell). How do Croc & Gator like their turkey necks so far? Snakey is very soft! He's got a full belly now, so he is probably snuggled in some dark, hidden spot in the furniture At least snakes don't travel far like dogs/cats/ferrets when they escape. I'd feel much better if he'd slither on back though

Yay! Honestly, ferret poop consistency was something I googled a ton when I first switched them. I haven't given it to them yet. I'm kinda nervous. I will let you know as soon as I can how they take to it! You almost need a tracking monitor for him.
