Everyone's sleeping out of the cage, just did a walk around the house and saw pee in a really unusual spot and then saw this! Green tinge on white "seedy" beads in the poop. Not normal AT ALL, they usually all have solid fairly dark poop (their kibble is very dark). Nothing foriegn in the poop but the color. Size. And texture is all off. What is this? I'm about to wake everyone up and check on them please help!!! I may not have figured out how to attach a photo. Thanks

Seedy poops usually mean undigested fats. I'll link the poo chart for you. Poop patrol is a normal part of being a ferrent and always manages to scare even the most experienced ferrent. holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/2469Green poop can simply mean a new food going through a digestive track or a bit of stress. If a new ferret has been introduced than it can mean ECE or green slime disease but since you mentioned the fatty poops than I'm thinking it's simply part of the fatty poops and a bit of green from a bit too much fat. What was the last meal. Ferrets have a fast digestive track and what goes in comes out in about 3-4 hours.

They have been on the same kibble Natures Variety Instinct, grain free raw cat kibble but difference "flavors" changed every couple months. I read its good to keep mixing it so they dont get too attached to one type. I don't do it too frequently so their bellys can adjust. I may have just given them a new flavor, i cant recall. Also does this sound like a responsible thing to be doing, changing the flavors?
They're all about a year old with no recent changes or known stressors. Their poop has been fine since then, maybe something spooked them when I wasn't home? Can't imagine what but thats my only theory. Certainly did scare me, I knew about the protein/fats thing but the green freaked me out! I have some probiotic support powder I put in the water that night and since then and I haven't seen any troubling poops since. Thanks for replying!

When feeding kibble, Some mix 2 different kinds together and feed that. So if there is a recall or if you runout---they will have a food they r use to. They do imprint on their foods. I would not keep changing up flavors----that may cause tummy upset.
Now if you find something that is better and you want to do an exchange ---just add a little until they r eating it and phase out another.
Of course if u find out something is totally bad, I would do a quick switch---that is me personally.

Anything can trigger stress(even happy things can stress the body). It could be something as simple as that. For now I would just watch them. If any show with diarrhea(kibble fed ferrets are borderline dehydrated, so diarrhea is a MAJOR concern for them), or if the odd stools continue I would vet.

A lot of us use photobucket(free). you can have a library of all your pics there.
1. Bring up your pic in photobucket. 2. On the right will be some rectangles---Email, Direct, HTML,and IMG. 3. click IMG ---it will briefly say copied and light up yellow. 4. Paste the image code in Quick Reply (here). 5. When u click Post Quick Reply, the code will convert to a pic.
If there is a shorter route, maybe someone will mention it.
