hey, thanks for letting me know! I hope all goes well with your computer! haha, this morning was tough. they kind of backpedaled, I think. even Kinga didn't want to eat the soup. she started to adopt Misio's pawing behavior. I'm gonna leave the soup in their cage (even though they're free-roaming [is that the term]) for a couple hours, though I doubt they'll touch it!

I think you're doing a fantastic job with both Misio and Kinga. Alittle back pedaling is OK, they'll get better the more you introduce the soup and encourage them. ^^

thanks this morning, Kinga ate a tiny bit of the soup, maaaybe about 1/4 tsp again, and Misio was as obstinate as ever, haha. I left it out for a bit, but neither of them touched it. this afternoon, Kinga ate a little bit again (which is an improvement! she's never eaten more before). I managed to get a TINY bit into Misio's mouth and he actually chewed it, haha! but wow, he didn't enjoy doing it! it's like I'm torturing the poor guy!

oh, also, they seem to be drinking a TON more lately (and peeing a ton more). is that normal?

Kinga is doing great! A little bit is always a good sign that they are adjusting to the new food. Misio is a good boy for at least chewing some he he! Usually ferrets cut back on drinking once on raw, this is due to the fact that the water content they need is mainly in their raw diet. Kibble fed ferrets drink a ton more because kibble can dehydrate ferrets. The sudden increased water intake may be from the transition, it doesn't seem like something to be concerned about. I recall seeing this with my ferrets as well, mainly more going to the toilet (raw=water), but after a week they started to cut back on drinking. At least you know that they are well hydrated! ^^

ok more good news! (I probably write on this thread too often, but it's mine so I'll keep doing it ) Kinga is continuing to eat a bit, even if she's doing it reluctantly, haha! she's not eating more; she's pretty consistent, but at least she's eating. and Misio! ok so I may have done something a little evil . . . I found him sleeping in one of my shirts, and he was facing upward, his mouth just . . . right there. so I rubbed a bit of the soup on his mouth. he actually chewed it all! like he forgot he was determined to fight me and hate the stuff. (he remembered a second later of course.) so I did manage to get him to eat some after he woke up, too! not as much as Kinga, but it's definitely progress!! he wouldn't touch the stuff before!

I'm out at the moment but I wanted to reply before I end up embarrassing myself by showing my excitement lol! I still have no computer, so thank goodness for my tapatalk app so I can see your replies easier.
Super good news! Everyone is going at a nice pace with their transition. Girls in general rat very little so even with this current progress, she's done super! I'm so proud of you and your fuzzies ~ I've done the same, dabbing some soup when they least expect it. You took the chance and he took to it ~!

Of course!! I apologize for being away from this forum. there were a couple medical things that popped up and I've been away from here and my fuzzies for a while. my mom's been trying to take care of them in my absence, haha, even though she's not the most comfortable with them. sometimes she's only tried to feed them the soup in the morning or in the evening (like 1x a day), but at least they're still tasting the raw food each day. I will fill out the forum tomorrow, as it's just past midnight here. I just wanted to let you know what was happening!! and that I apologize for my absence. :S it hopefully won't happen again! but I'll weigh my bbs tomorrow and fill everything out. my mom's kept a pretty good log of everything (and very angrily, of their poop, haha! they've been naughty), so I think I have a good picture of what's been going on while I've been gone. (I also have a new corner to clean, though . . . )

Hi~~ From the sounds of it, it was something unexpected, no need to apologise. ^^ It's not compulsory to post everyday, though we do appreciate more frequent posting during the early stages of transitioning. Once you get to the slivers/chunks or even bone in meat stage then every 3 days or once a week is fine. If you know you will be absent for longer than a week, it would be great to know in advance, but for sudden or unexpected things, especially when health is involved, you don't need to apologise. It's great to hear that your mum is getting involved with the feeding and general caring for your ferrets, even when shes not the most comfortable with them. My roommates actually get involved these days as well. When I first got my ferrets, they wouldn't even touch them and now they feed them if I cannot do it myself. ^^ I think it's great to have other people familiarise themselves with the ferret and the diet, so if there were cases where we get sick (ferrets can catch the flu from us), or cannot make it home in time, or are simply away from home, then there is still someone who knows what to do in our place.

The ferrets are still being pretty stubborn, and are eating about the same amounts (Kinga: teaspoon; Misio: a few bites). is this normal for them to be this stubborn also, I discovered what was causing the water loss. I can't believe I hadn't seen this earlier! Kinga apparently likes to stick her entire head in the water bowl and like snorkels around, haha! it's so cute. but messy!
