Oh she(AND you) have done exceptionally well It will be interesting watching them grow up. And be prepared for them to eat you out of house and home :heehee: And whatever you do- please do not separate them from mom before 10-12 weeks of age.

I find my wee 'bino pair just very inventive. I found them teaching my poley girls (they ran together in the winter) how to open cupboards...the girls taught the 'binos how to climb, now everyone knows how to get up and into just about everything. Nothing is safe. The bonus....the B&E twins didn't teach the hybrids how to open the fridge and the poleys didn't teach the B&E twins how to open a Ferret Nation. {sigh} I know....it's only a matter of time ciao

I do have one quick question though. As we didn't realise she was going to have such a big brood the hutch she is in isn't suitable for her and 10 growing kits especially since they are staying with me untill the end of September, when can I move them indoors into the big cage without upsetting her? I would imagine when they are about 5-6 weeks?

I am not a breeder and have no idea but just want to clarify your question for when breeders do come on and can answer. Do you mean just moving them inside to a bigger cage or are you asking about integrating with others as well who you may have inside? crazylady is probably your best bet for answers

Once eyes are open and they are moving around a bit is usually the safest time to move them. That's usually around 5 weeks old

Hi but remember it will have to be a bigger cage lol they grow pretty fast and eat and poop like dogs lol ( all I seem to do is clean corners and feed then repeat it over and over all day long lol also kits pee is not a nice scent and with your group they are going to be doing quite a lot of it lol ( my eight are bad enough lol) normally around six weeks mom will be weaning them off the teat ( teeth hurt lol ) you will see there true character come out then hope this helps take care bye for now Bev

AHH they're so gosh darn adorable I'd say bad luck on the college backing out, but at least now you get to keep them soo maybe a good thing? As soon as you get your ferret house up and running you'll have to post some photos of it, congratulations on the new place!

LoL ferret maths strikes again lol when you convert your out building make sure to measure for a mesh door that can be locked this way they get plenty of air and light ( helps with the smell too lol) and it will help regulate the body clock to each season because the door is a sturdy mesh if you have any escape artists they cannot go any where lol take care bye for now Bev
