5/29
H - Ate 3 TBS pork mix, whole chicken wing, 1/2 chicken heart, and 1/4 chicken liver (from 1 oz chicken liver) Had a total of 4 feedings every 4-7 hours, took 2 feedings to eat entire wing (spent 15-30 minutes each time eating wing), spent 10-20 minutes eating pork mix and chicken heart and liver
R - Ate 1 TBS pork mix, entire chicken wing, and 1/4 of of chicken heart and liver mix (composed of 1/2 chicken heart, 1/4 chicken liver - originally 1 oz piece - and 3 TBS pork mix) Had a total of 5 feedings every 1-7 hours, took 3 feedings to eat chicken wing (spent 10-25 minutes each time with wing), spent 10-20 minutes each time with pork mix, chicken heart, and chicken liver (picky, picky, picky)
C - Ate 2 TBS pork mix, entire chicken wing, and 3/4 chicken heart and chicken liver mix (contained whole chicken heart, 1/4 chicken liver - originally 1 oz chicken liver - and 3 TBS pork mix) Had a total of 7 feedings every 1-5 hours, took 4 feedings to eat wing (spent 10-20 min each time with wing), spent 10-20 minutes each time coaxing to eat chicken heart, liver, pork mix (picky, picky, picky)
All were fed by themselves (besides the first feeding) in the feeding cage.
The girls, especially Rosita, do not like the chicken liver. Any other liver I could try with them? We did recently just purchase rooster liver. Rosita will eat the chicken heart by itself and Charlotte I believe will come around to it. That liver seems to be a problem with the girls though.
Our veal order should be coming in this week as well. Took longer than expected. I still have all the lamb and beef frozen to reintroduce as well.

Sorry I wasn't here for the last couple of days! You can try beef liver instead or lamb or goat or pretty much any kind of liver. I often feed beef liver.

They are eating very decent amounts! Pop Quiz Time! 1.) Does freezing degrade Taurine? 2.) How much food on average should a male and female ferret each consume per DAY? 3.) Why is cooking meat generally considered inadvisable?

They are eating very decent amounts! Pop Quiz Time! 1.) Does freezing degrade Taurine? 2.) How much food on average should a male and female ferret each consume per DAY? 3.) Why is cooking meat generally considered inadvisable? 1.) The freezing process doesn't degrade Taurine, cooking and long exposure to oxygen will though 2.) Most ferrets are good at self regulating when eating. While eating a raw diet, some ferrets may eat only once per day while others will snack throughout the day. It is a standard though to feed an AM meal and PM meal (or 2-3 meals per day), but leave unfinished food out for the ferrets to access for later if they become hungry (always have food available). I'm not 100% certain as to the ounces/day given, but do know males generally eat more than females, kits will eat more than adult ferrets, and depending upon the season, feeding amounts will vary as well. 3.) Cooking is generally in-advisable because nutrients decrease during the cooking process
