So the other day, I guess my mom was going to the bathroom, and Sly charged her (she was sitting on the toliet) and jumped and bit her. I guess she was stunned and swatted him away and he ran off. (I don't know if it was run off war dancing, or just running.) He got her right on the blood vein on the top of her hand, and made her bleed for a good hour or so. and there are now two distinctive teeth marks. I'm not really nervous, or concerned, as I'm sure it was a act of play, because he hasn't bit anyone before or after that... I asked my mom some details, but i'm not sure she knew what I was talking about aha, so I don't know if he did it in a "Ah! get out of MY bathroom!" or a "Oh you sort of on my level!! Let's play" I dunno, it's just the weirdest thing, He's such a sweetheart I trust him over my dog. and I have no idea why he would ever bite someone.. definetly that hard.

It's always troubling when a fuzz bites, even more so when the fuzz bites and normally he wouldn't do such a thing. What you have to do is take a look from his point of view....does he normally get to be in the bathroom? did your mother try and shoo him away because he was sniffing her? We sometimes do this without thinking and he may have been startled by the sudden hand movement that may not have been familiar to him. What type of interaction does she normally have with him? He could have nipped in play but because she was already moving away from him, she may have pulled on him just as he was shutting him mouth in the nip. His reflex would have been to tighten, bit harder...he is after all a carnivore. Our little ones aren't that far from their roots. ciao

Yeah I was thinking that too Heather, but I really don't know.
She was 'finishing' up going to the bathroom. So hands were occupied. That's what I thought too, that she startled him (at first I thought maybe he was sleeping and she frightened him but later was told she was going to the bathroom)
The bathroom is free range for him, he goes there as he pleases, and is actually one of his preferred rooms in the house.
Interaction - Mm little, She works about 16+ hours a day for the most part, he's gone and cuddled her, and goes for pets and snuggles, but that's only when they are home together. He knows who she is, and will go to her when she calls him. So she is no stranger.
It's the strangest thing, She's not too keen on him now though.. It's really sad too since he will go up to her for pets still and she wants nothing to do with him =[

I"m sure that given a bit of time that their relationship will repair itself to a degree. Unfortunately, being bit doesn't lend itself to being loved right afterwards (except by us silly ferret people ) I hope that your mother will forgive him in time, I'm sure that he didn't mean anything by it. It sounds to me that he might have been startled. Captain Jack bit me hard the other day, and I have no idea what infraction I did to deserve it, other than he was very intent at sniffing something and I interrupted him. He nailed the inside of my wrist. I just went to move him aside. This very well could have been what happened. Capt. Jack would never bite anyone...so??? ciao

I'd say startled too, maybe the sounds of the bathroom got him riled up? The paper unrolling, the toilet noises...stuff like that? Has he ever played with toilet paper before?

The sound of the flush, maybe startled him? Bathrooms can be odd places for strange noises, for sure.

I think he was just playing and happened to get her on a vein that bleeds a lot. My guys like to try and ambush me or whoever from time to time. Tell you mom to man up, I'm sure it was an accident.

Yeah mine have gotten me pretty good several times but it was all in play. When they attempt a flying leap accompanied by a bite they seem to have more trouble controlling how hard they nip.

I'm willing to bet it wasn't intentionally aggressive. I've been nipped good out of excitement and playfulness.

Yeah, I'm guessing he wanted to play, and she was 'busy' and didn't have time! Ha.
She didn't flush yet, so that isn't a culprit. She said he kept coming to see her and tried looking into the toliet when she kept pushing him away. I'm guessing he thought the push was a indicator of play and took action.
This morning sly ran upstairs and started scratching her butt when she was sleeping. I was called quite quickly to hurry before he nipped her bottom. I think her 'fear' is making him more and more excited to be 'playing' with her.

It definitely is. He got a reaction that first time, even though he's not likely sure what caused it. Here's hoping he never finds out!
