Reading straight across So 0 whole prey meals mean you will have to give 14 frankenprey meals---which consist of 9 bone in meals and 2 muscle meals and 1 1/2 organ meals and 1 1/2 h heart meals this is serving two meals a day for 7 days So let me make sure I am reading the chart right. Say if I were feeding 10 whole prey meals a week I still needto feed 4 frankenprey meals that week right? Which includes only three bone in meals and half a heart meal and half an organ meal. Celene also mentioned that because its awkward to feed half a meal I can just put the heart and organ meal together to create one meal correct? 10 whole prey, 1 muscle meat, 1/2 heart + 1/4 liver + 1/4 other organ and 2 bone in meals. If stools are loose you can omit the 1 muscle meat and add another bone in but with mainly whole prey that should not be an issue if you are feeding fur also. My whole prey meals include, mice, rats, Guinea pig and quail currently with the occasional chick and occasional sardines that would replace one of the other meals. I also do one meal a week of ground whole rabbit and that is considered whole prey also as it includes the ENTIRE rabbit. When I bought whole rabbits and butchered them myself, I used those in the frankenprey part of the menu since everything was separated from each other. Hope that helps.

Guinea pig is whole prey. I used to consider the rabbit I fed as part of the frankenprey, but I now use ground whole rabbit so it is also part of the whole prey menu.

Right now I am trying to get them eating the new protien because my gang has never had mice or guinea pigs. So I completely gutted them of everything besides meat and bones. Once they recognise the protien as food I will try them on whole prey. I just feel this is the best way to start my gang on different protiens.

Did you leave the organs? When I first started whole prey I would take out stomache and intestines and drizzle a little oil on it and each time would be less oil until they ate it on their own. Usually only took a few days. Also that protein is all they would get for a few days in a row until they were eating it without oil basically.

Also, I'm sorry with 10 whole prey it is 3 bone in and no muscle meat meal. I only feed 9 whole prey meals a week and I mixed it up! (shy)

I took everything out because I was afraid if I fed the normal frankenprey menu with those substituted in there I would over do organs and get a vitamin toxity.

It takes awhile to build up toxicity and or deficiencies. It shouldn't be an issue during a timely transition.

Alright well next order I do I will leave it in. I am sorry this is all new to me. I can still use these as a frankenprey bone in meals though so I am not to worried.

No worries. At least you were overly cautious instead of not cautious enough!

Anytime! So I tried my baby on a mouse. It still had the hair and tail just no organs or anything like we talked about. After a while I looked in the cage and she had eaten half. Unfortunatly there was still some poop on the mouse even after I rinsed it off. So I rinsed it and she still wouldn't eat it after the initial time. So I left her be. I woke up this morning to the mouse not even being touched and that is odd for this tummy with teeth. Anyways I was looking through her cage and her blanket is full of throw up from the mouse. I don't know if the mouse was bad? Or hair got stuck and it freaked her out and she threw up everything. I don't know but it worries me. The mouse ish poop she had is red and a solid looking it just a weird color is all. Any input? The mice have been frozen for a week. I didn't think you had to freeze hare today's animals because they are a reputable provider. The guinea pig and quail I had gotten has sat well with everyone no throw up and all good poops.
