So I decided to try my kids on whole prey. Kinda sorta I guess because instead of feeding the whole thing I cut all guts and organs out. Reason I did this was to get them on a different protien source and I didn't buy a lot to make sure i can get them to switch so I am working them up to eating complete whole prey. The hare today guinea pigs were clean and a bit creepy looking but that's besides the point. So I kind of made my own frankenprey whole prey lol
I definitely followed another thread on here to see how I would cut into the piggy and it was a lot of help. I was at first extremely intimadated to touch this thing lol it was definitely a new experience lol tonight will be the first time my babies try this new protien. But overall I would like to say I think I did pretty good. Except for something splashed on my cheek that was pretty gross actually but I think I will live.

I didn't keep the organs in because the chart with feeding whole prey and frankenprey make no sense to me.... so i just stripped the whole thing just to be on the safe side.

Also what bothers me is I didn't rinse my guinea pigs off or skin them after I cut them up so now I am rinsing them off and skinning them ugh.

Next time, keep your organs and freeze them in a freezer bag or container. I will pull the chart up and interpret. It has been a while since i looked at it.

Reading straight across
So 0 whole prey meals mean you will have to give 14 frankenprey meals---which consist of 9 bone in meals and 2 muscle meals and 1 1/2 organ meals and 1 1/2 h heart meals
this is serving two meals a day for 7 days

Yes so I thawed all my animals to prepare and referee and the mice I got are completely thawed and they bleed everywhere all over from their noses. Is this normal? One of the guinea pigs were like that too.

Say if I were feeding 10 whole prey meals a week I still needto feed 4 frankenprey meals that week right? Which includes only three bone in meals and half a heart meal and half an organ meal. Celene also mentioned that because its awkward to feed half a meal I can just put the heart and organ meal together to create one meal correct?

I think FireAngel serves or considers her guinea pig whole prey. Maybe she will explain that as she is a mentor--or someone else will. Edited: frankenprey instead of whole prey.
